Section 1 – Contractual agreementThis policy wording is evidence of a legally binding contract of insurance between You and Motors InsuranceCompany Limited (hereinafter known as the Insurer’, We’, Our’, Us’).Motors Insurance Company Limited is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by theFinancial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority under number 202875. This can bechecked on the Financial Services Register by visiting the FCA’s website at www.fca.org.uk/registerThis policy is administered by Car Care Plan Limited (hereinafter known as the Administrator’) which isauthorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.1

Section 2 – Claim proceduresHow to claim under your Renault ExtendedWarrantyWe aim to make the claims procedure as simpleas possible.Repairs in the British Islands1. If You wish to make a claim under the terms ofYour warranty, please contact Your supplyingRenault dealer, or any VAT registered repairer toagree a suitable time for it to be inspected andrepaired. If You cannot return the Vehicle toYour supplying Renault dealer, We recommendthat You contact another Renault dealer toarrange repairs.2. Please take this handbook and the accompanyingWelcome Letter with You when delivering theVehicle to the dealer. The dealer will confirmwhether it is still valid and will check Your servicerecord to verify that the Vehicle has beenproperly maintained.3. You should agree that You will pay the diagnosticcosts and any repair costs that are not covered bythe warranty.4. Having established that Your claim is valid, thedealer will contact The Administrator forauthority to proceed. You may be asked to signthe repair invoice.5. The Administrator reserves the right to examineany Vehicle and subject the parts being repairedto expert assessment before commencement ofany repairs. It shall be clearly understood andagreed that in the event of any dispute arising asto the extent of the liability, the decision of theassessor shall be final and binding on both TheAdministrator and the Warranty Holder.If You need any further assistance relating to a claim,please contact The Administrator on 0344 573 8035.Note: Repair invoices must be received by TheAdministrator within 30 days of the date ofcompletion of the repairs, otherwise they cannot beaccepted. Repair invoices received beyond this datewill be subject to review in terms of the reason fordelay and it will be at The Administrator’s discretionto accept such claims.Repairs outside the British IslandsIf it is necessary for a repair on Your Vehicle to becompleted outside the British Islands, You will notrequire prior authorisation from The Administrator1. Take Your Vehicle to the nearest Renaultfranchised dealer or the local repairer.2. Give them Your authority to complete the repairs.3. Once the repairs have been completed, pay thecosts and retain the invoice.4. On Your return to the British Islands, send Yourinvoice and service records with a coveringletter to: Renault Extended WarrantyAdministration, Claims Department, JubileeHouse, 5 Mid Point Business Park, Thornbury,West Yorkshire BD3 7AGIn the event that Your claim is valid TheAdministrator will reimburse You in pounds sterlingat the prevailing rate of exchange on the date therepair was completed. Please note that We may notpay the full cost of a repair which is completedoverseas. The maximum We will pay for parts is theBritish Islands list price at the time of repair. Themaximum We will pay for labour is the warrantyrate which would have been applicable if the repairhad been completed in the British Islands by aRenault dealer.If You need to make contact while You are abroad,please telephone 0044 1274 260135Servicing RequirementsTo ensure that Your Vehicle is maintained in goodcondition it should be serviced in accordance withthe manufacturer’s recommendations. Failure tocomply with the manufacturer’s service schedulesmay invalidate Your warranty.Services must be carried out within ONE MONTH/1,000 MILES of the intervals specified by the Vehiclemanufacturer, whichever comes first.It is important that You retain Your service receiptsas they may be required to validate a claim.2

Section 3 – DefinitionsThe Insurer, We, Us, OurWarranty Holder, You, Your, YourselfMotors Insurance Company Limited,Jubilee House,5 Mid Point Business Park,Thornbury, West Yorkshire BD3 7AG.The person named in the Welcome Letter thataccompanies this handbook or any subsequentpurchaser to whom the benefit of the warranty isdirectly transferred.The AdministratorMechanical or Electrical FailureCar Care Plan LimitedT/A Renault Extended Warranty Administration,Jubilee House,5 Mid Point Business Park, Thornbury,West Yorkshire BD3 7AG.The inability of a covered component to operate inaccordance with the manufacturer’s specification fora reason, other than wear and tear, accident ormalicious damage.Renault Extended WarrantyBritish Islands means the United Kingdom (GreatBritain and Northern Ireland), the Channel Islandsand the Isle of Man.A contract of insurance underwritten by MotorsInsurance Company Ltd.Renault Extended Warranty is only available onVehicles up to ten years old having travelled lessthan 100,000 miles from new, at the point ofwarranty purchase.The Vehicle must:a) have an existing warranty administered byRenault Extended Warranty Administration;orb) still be within the manufacturer’s warrantyperiod.British IslandsGeographical TerritoriesYour warranty cover is valid anywhere in the BritishIslands, which includes Great Britain, NorthernIreland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. It isalso valid in the European Union and the EuropeanFree Trade Association (EFTA) for up to 60 days a year.VehicleThe motor vehicle referred to in the Welcome Letterthat accompanies this handbook.Welcome LetterThe confirmation that the warranty application hasbeen accepted. When You receive the Welcome Letter,please check that it contains the correct details.Please keep Your handbook and Welcome Letter in asafe place inside Your Vehicle, as You will need toshow it to Your dealer if You have to make a claim.Warranty PeriodThe Warranty Period is shown in the Welcome Letterthat accompanies this handbook. The warranty willstart and expire on the dates shown in this letter,unless the manufacturer’s warranty expires earlier inwhich case the warranty will start and expire earlierand will reflect the Warranty Period purchased/provided. It should be noted that if the manufacturer’swarranty is declared invalid or does not exist forwhatever reason, the warranty will still start andexpire on the dates shown in the Welcome LetterJurisdiction ClauseAny dispute concerning the warranty will be decidedby the application of English Law.3

Section 4 – Details of coverRenault Extended WarrantyRenault Extended Warranty is available on Vehicles upto ten years old having travelled less than 100,000miles from new, at the point of warranty purchase.Covered ItemsAll the manufacturer’s original components arecovered for Mechanical or Electrical Failure with theexception of the items listed below (subject to theGeneral Warranty Exclusions and Terms andConditions detailed later in this handbook).Excluded ItemsThe following items are not covered: All service items/maintenance operations Ancillary drive belts Air conditioning re-charge unless required as partof a component failure covered by the warranty Batteries Brake friction materials Brake noise caused by an accumulation of dust Clutch friction materials Electrical software update or reprogrammingunless required due to the failure of a covered part Exhaust system including diesel particulate filtersExcluded Items continued(catalytic converters are covered for internal failureonly and not accidental damage, corrosion ordamage resulting from the use of incorrect fuel)Trim and bodywork including:holders, including printed circuit boards which arepart of the lamp Aerials Glass (heater elements are covered) Exterior trim, bodywork, and cosmetic finishes Interior trim, check straps and hinges Paintwork Seat covers and cushions Weather-strips and body sealsrequired as part of a component failure covered bythe warrantyImportantcomponents caused by waterMaximum Claim Limit Fuses, lamps and LED illumination, bulbs and bulb Media storage devices Non factory-fitted components Tyres and valves Wheels Wheel balancing Wheel alignment or any wheel adjustments unless Windscreen washer jets Wiper blades Water ingress including damage to covered Adjustments of doors, bonnet, boot lid, tailgateor any component which may require adjustmentfrom time to timeNeither “The Insurer”, nor “The Administrator” willbe responsible for damage or losses to componentsthat are not directly covered within the terms of thiswarranty in any circumstances.The amount You may claim over the whole periodof this warranty is limited to the purchase price ofYour Vehicle.4

General Warranty Exclusionsa) The gradual reduction in operating performance(wear and tear) due to the age and mileage of thecovered Vehicle.b) Mechanical or Electrical Failure caused bycorrosion.c) Any loss, damage or failure which occurs whilethe Vehicle is outside the GeographicalTerritories detailed in this handbook.d) Mechanical or Electrical Failure caused by faultswhich, in the opinion of a qualified engineerappointed by The Administrator, existed beforethe warranty commenced.e) Vehicles where the speedometer/odometer isaltered, disconnected or interfered with in anyway, unless it is faulty. Faulty speedometers/odometers may be repaired or replaced, but onlywith The Administrator’s prior authorisation.f) Any routine component adjustment andalignment.g) Component failure resulting from overloading orabnormal use.h) Faults and damage resulting from the use of fuelwhich is either contaminated or inappropriate forthe Vehicle.i)Damage which has resulted from a failure toarrange for an obvious fault to be rectified.j)Damage which has occurred as a result of anyaccessory being fitted (unless the accessory isapproved by the manufacturer for use on theVehicle and fitted according to instructionsprovided by the manufacturer of the accessory).k) Vibrations and noises related to the vehiclebodywork and chassis, and the operation of theVehicle.l)Deterioration such as discolouration, alterationor deformation of parts due to normal ageing.m) The consequences of repairs, conversions ormodifications carried out by firms not approvedby the manufacturer, and also the consequencesof converting the Vehicle to run on LPG.n) Damage resulting from the use of fluids or partsother than original parts or those of equivalentquality.o) Any damage caused by frost, including damagewhere lack or failure of anti-freeze has been acontributory factor.p) Component failure resulting from accidentaldamage, misuse or neglect.q) Any damage or losses to components that arenot directly covered within the terms of thiswarranty.r) Water ingress (including damage to covered partscaused by water ingress).s) Bodywork, paintwork, glass, upholstery, door andwindow seals, trim, and cosmetic finishes.t) Diagnostic time of any type unless part of a validclaim.5

Additional BenefitsOvernight AccommodationOut of Pocket ExpensesIf You are unable to reach Your planned destinationand find it necessary to book overnightaccommodation elsewhere, We will pay up to 150(including VAT) to cover the cost. Alternatively 200(including VAT) may be claimed towards the cost ofreturn rail or air fare.In the event of a valid claim, We will reimburseunavoidable out of pocket expenses as follows:Towing ChargesIf You incur unavoidable towing charges following abreakdown that is covered by this warranty, We willpay up to 75 (including VAT) to cover the cost. Thisonly applies if Renault Assistance or Xtra Assistanceis not available.Vehicle HireIf Your Vehicle requires repairs which are covered bythis warranty You may claim for a replacement hirevehicle (British Islands only).Vehicle hire is not provided for the first 24 hours ofVehicle immobilisation. After this period We willrefund Your vehicle hire costs for a comparablevehicle up to a maximum of 50 per day (includingVAT). You will be responsible for the cost ofinsurance, fuel and ancillary expenses. Please notethat the maximum period for which You are entitledto a replacement vehicle following a single incidentis seven days. Vehicle hire must be from a Renaultdealer or recognised vehicle hire company. A depositmay be required.The following conditions apply:1. The breakdown must have left Your Vehicleunable to be driven.2. All out of pocket expenses must be approvedby The Administrator and be supported byvalid VAT receipts and invoices. To discussauthorisation, please contact The Administratoron 0344 573 8035.Overseas CoverYour warranty cover is valid anywhere in the BritishIslands, which includes Great Britain, NorthernIreland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. It isalso valid in the European Union and the EuropeanFree Trade Association (EFTA) for up to 60 days a year.6

Section 5 – Terms and conditionsRenault Extended Warranty Terms and ConditionsPlease take time to read the following terms andconditions, which are an important part of Yourwarranty.1. Warranty Holder The Warranty Holder is the onlyperson who is entitled to make a claim under thiswarranty.2. Vehicle Any claim under this warranty mustrelate to the Vehicle described in the WelcomeLetter that accompanies this handbook.3. Warranty Period The Warranty Period is shown inthe Welcome Letter that accompanies thishandbook. The warranty will start and expire onthe dates shown in this letter, unless themanufacturer’s warranty expires earlier in whichcase the warranty will start and expire earlier andwill reflect the Warranty Period purchased/provided. It should be noted that if themanufacturer’s warranty is declared invalid ordoes not exist for whatever reason, the warrantywill still start and expire on the dates shown inthe Welcome Letter.4. Authorisation No repair must be carried outwithout The Administrator’s prior authorisation,with the exception of repairs completed outsidethe British Islands, which may be authorised bythe Warranty Holder.5. Payment for Repairs When a repair is undertakenby a franchised Renault dealer, they will obtainprior authorisation from The Administrator andwill invoice Renault Extended WarrantyAdministration for the cost of the repair.In certain circumstances, The Administrator mayauthorise a repair by another dealer in the BritishIslands or You may authorise a repair outside theBritish Islands. In either event, You may berequired to pay the dealer on completion of workand may then reclaim the cost from Us.6. List Prices We will not pay more than themanufacturer’s list prices for parts and currentwarranty rates for labour time. Actual repairtimes will be limited to those in the latest Glass’sGuide Institute of Chartered MechanicalEngineers (ICME) manual or the manufacturer’srecommended repair times. Please bear this inmind if You authorise a repair overseas.7. Invoices to Support Claims Any claim for a repairbill which You have paid direct or for out ofpocket expenses must be supported by a VATreceipted invoice.78. Inspection of Vehicle and Parts The Administratorreserves the right to inspect the Vehicle beforeauthorising repairs and may also arrange forparts to be examined by a Claims Assessor. Wemay choose to retain any part replaced under theterms of the warranty.9. Dismantling of Vehicle It is the responsibility ofthe owner to authorise the dismantling of theVehicle and pay the charges if such dismantlingproves that the failure is not covered under thewarranty.We will only pay for the dismantling if it is part ofa valid claim and in accordance with condition 6.10. Design Faults and Recalls If any of the Vehicle’scomponents has an inherent design fault or isrecalled by its manufacturer, the componentwhich is the subject of the design fault or recall isnot covered by this warranty.11. Servicing It is a condition of the warranty thatYour Vehicle is maintained in good condition, andserviced in accordance with the manufacturer’srecommendations. A maximum allowance of1,000 miles either side of the stipulated serviceschedule mileage and one month either side ofthe stipulated service time period is permitted,whichever comes first. Failure to comply with thisrequirement may invalidate the warranty. Servicereceipts should be retained as proof of servicing.12. Excluded Vehicles This warranty does not coverthe following vehicles: Non-Europeanspecification imports, commercial vehicles with aGross Vehicle Weight (GVW) exceeding 3.5tonnes, motorcycles, motor homes and anynon- Renault vehicle.13. Excluded Uses This warranty does not cover anyVehicle used as a taxi, minicab, driving schoolvehicle, made available for hire or reward or usedin any sort of competition, track days, rally orracing. It also excludes public service vehicles,police cars, ambulances, fire service and militaryvehicles.14. Modification to Vehicle In the event that amodification (including those made before theinception of this warranty), which has not beenapproved by The Administrator, contributes to afault, We reserve the right to reject any claim Youmay wish to make in relation to that fault.

15. Exclusions The warranty does not cover:a) the gradual reduction in operatingperformance (wear and tear) due to the ageand mileage of the covered Vehicle.b) any loss, damage or failure which occurs whilethe Vehicle is outside the GeographicalTerritories detailed in this handbook.c) any defect or other loss which has beencaused or worsened by the effects of nuclearfuel or nuclear waste, either through directcontact or through exposure to levels ofradiation which exceed those permitted incurrent legislation.16. False Claims If You make a false claim under thewarranty, You will forfeit all benefits and thewarranty will be cancelled without any refundpayable.17. Other Warranties and Insurance You must notuse this warranty to recover costs which arecovered by another warranty or an existinginsurance policy.18. Legal Proceedings Following the acceptance ofany claim under this warranty, We will have theright to conduct legal proceedings or enter intoformal arbitration on Your behalf. In doing so,The Insurers will be entitled to take action inYour name. The cost of the action will be Ourresponsibility, unless You have agreed in writingto an alternative arrangement. We will beentitled to any compensation and/or indemnitybenefit obtained through these proceedings, tothe extent that these relate to costs or potentialliabilities covered by the warranty. We will also beentitled to the costs of this action, if they areassigned to You.19. Early Expiry The warranty will automatically becancelled without compensation in any of thefollowing circumstances:a) if the Vehicle is used as a taxi, mini-cab, publicservice vehicle or as a driving school vehicle;b) if the Vehicle is made available for short-termhire or daily rental;c) if the Vehicle is used in any sort ofcompetition, track days, rally or racing;d) if the Vehicle is a commercial vehicle with aGross Vehicle Weight (GVW) exceeding 3.5tonnes;e) if the speedometer/odometer of the Vehicle isaltered, disconnected or interfered with in anyway, unless it is faulty. Faulty speedometers/odometers may be repaired or replaced, butonly by franchised Renault dealers and withThe Administrator’s prior authorisation.20. Invoices for repairs and out of pocket expensescovered by a Renault Extended Warranty shouldbe made out to Renault Extended WarrantyAdministration.21. Administrator and Insurera) Renault Extended Warranty Administrationand Motors Insurance Company Limited(MICL) are appointed by Renault UK Limitedto administer and underwrite their warrantyproducts.b) Renault Extended Warranty Administration isauthorised by Motors Insurance CompanyLimited (MICL) to act as their agents inrelation to the Renault Extended Warranty.They manage and administer all RenaultExtended Warranty Administration services.All claims and correspondence should besubmitted through them at the followingaddress: Renault Extended WarrantyAdministration, Jubilee House, 5 Mid PointBusiness Park, Thornbury, West Yorkshire BD37AG.22. Pre-existing Faults The warranty does not coverfailures caused by faults which a qualifiedengineer thinks could have reasonably existedbefore this warranty began.23. Cancellation Rights and Refunds We hope Youare happy with the cover this policy provides. Ifafter reading Your policy document, however, thisinsurance cover does not meet with Yourrequirements, You have the right to cancel thewarranty within 30 days of purchase. Should Youwish to cancel within this period, please contactThe Administrator who will arrange cancellationand refund of any premium You are entitled to.If You wish to cancel Your policy after this 30-dayperiod, You may cancel Your policy at any timeand receive a pro rata refund of Your premiumbased on the number of whole months remainingsubject to the deduction of a 30 administrationfee. Requests for cancellation outside of the first30 days from purchase should be made bycontacting The Administrator on 0344 573 8035or in writing to The Administrator at RenaultExtended Warranty Administration, JubileeHouse, 5 Mid Point Business Park, Thornbury,West Yorkshire BD3 7AG.8

There will be no refund entitlement under thefollowing circumstances: in the last 30 days of the Warranty Period.if You have made a claim.if You were provided with the warranty free ofcharge.where the warranty has been transferred fromthe original purchaser.If You have paid for Your policy by instalmentpayments through an instalment agreement withCar Care Plan Limited, any refund amount owedto You will be calculated in line with the followingrules:Where You have paid all the instalmentpayments, The Administrator will calculate therefund as above. The refund will be paid directlyto You.Where You have NOT paid all the instalmentpayments, The Administrator will calculate therefund as above and:1. If the refund You are eligible for is in excess ofthe total outstanding instalment payments Youowe, The Administrator will pay the differencedirectly to You; or2. If the refund You are eligible for is less than thetotal outstanding instalment payments You owe,You will not receive a cash refund. The refund willbe applied as part payment of Your totaloutstanding instalment payments.You will continue to be responsible for paying theremaining outstanding payments on Yourinstalment agreement with Car Care Plan Limiteduntil the balance calculated at the time of noticeof cancellation received by The Administrator hasbeen settled.Please allow up to 28 days for Your cancellationand refund to be processed.24. Governing Law and Jurisdiction This agreementshall be construed in accordance with EnglishLaw and the parties irrevocably submit to thenon-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts tosettle any disputes which may arise in connectionwith this agreement.25. Statutory Rights Nothing in these conditions willreduce Your statutory rights relating to faulty ormis-described goods. For further informationabout Your statutory rights, please contact Yourlocal authority Trading Standards Department orCitizens Advice Bureau.926. Policy Premium Payments Cover is available asan annual policy with a single upfront paymentor via monthly instalments (Not available for salewithin dealers).Where you have selected to purchase yourproduct via monthly instalments, you haveentered into an agreement to purchase anannual policy, spreading the cost over interestfree instalments. You are required to continue topay your instalments until all monies owed havebeen paid.The cover level provided when opting to pay bymonthly instalments is identical to that of anannual policy. You must pay the premium everymonth on or before the date when it is due.Payment is required for the full premium of yourpolicy subject to the cancellation terms. Shouldyou fail to pay a monthly premium when it is due,all cover will cease immediately from that date.Where you have made a claim against the policy,you will be asked to continue to make yourmonthly instalment payments.Please Note: We will not automatically renewYour cover after the initial 12 month period. Wewill write to You at the last address You providedto give details on how to continue Your cover*.* Continuation of cover may be subject to certainvehicle eligibility criteria.27. Residency Cover under Renault ExtendedWarranty may only be granted to individualsresiding, or corporate bodies registered, in theBritish Islands.

Section 6 – Transfer of ownershipIf You sell Your Vehicle during the period of YourRenault Extended Warranty, You may transfer thebenefits of the warranty to the new owner, providedthat the Vehicle is sold privately and not through agarage, motor trader, auction or similar company.Please note: Products purchased via monthlyinstalments can only be transferred provided anybalance of monies owed has been paid in full.PART 2The new owner should complete and sign this formand send the entire handbook (do not detach thispage) to The Administrator. The transfer will besubject to The Administrator’s approval with areplacement handbook being returned whereapproved.AddressIf the Renault Extended Warranty is to remain valid,this handbook must be received by TheAdministrator within 30 days of the date You sell theVehicle. We recommend that it is sent by registeredpost. Section 7 – Important informationComplaint ProcedureFinancial Services Compensation SchemeAlthough We aim to please, things can sometimesgo wrong. We would rather You told Us if You aredissatisfied.Motors Insurance Company Limited is covered by theFinancial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS.) Youmay be entitled to compensation from the scheme ifthe Insurer is unable to meet its obligations. Thisdepends on the type of business and thecircumstances of the claim.
