was commissioned by ALMA to do a consumer research studyof the Canadian marketplace to better understand theconsumers’ attitudes and their behaviours as it relates tofresh meat. The study looked at the key motivators and driv‐ers that influence their demand for fresh meat includingthings such as product attributes, production claims as wellas the importance of country of origin. In addition, the studytook a very close look at the retail environment to betterunderstand where the consumer was shopping and whattheir influences at the retail level to purchase fresh meatwere.
