ACCREDITATION STATUSFranciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges andSchools. As required by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education all developingprograms must disclose their status in the pre-accreditation process in all information provided toprospective students: “Graduation from a physical therapist [assistant] education program accredited bythe Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), 1111 North Fairfax Street,Alexandria, VA 22314; phone; 703-706-3245; accreditation@apta.org is necessary for eligibility to sit forthe licensure examination, which is required in all states. Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University isseeking accreditation of a new physical therapist education program from CAPTE. The program is planningto submit an Application for Candidacy, which is the formal application required in the pre-accreditationstage, on December 1, 2017. Submission of this document does not assure that the program will begranted Candidate for Accreditation status. Achievement of Candidate for Accreditation status is requiredprior to implementation of the professional phase of the program; therefore, no students may be enrolled inprofessional courses until Candidate for Accreditation status has been achieved. INTRODUCTIONThis handbook serves as a guide to inform students of the policies, procedures, and expectations of Doctorof Physical Therapy students at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University. Failure to read thishandbook, the University Student Handbook, and the University Catalog does not excuse the student fromany of the policies described in these publications. The policies published in this Handbook are specific tothis program and are more detailed than the University Catalog and Student Handbook. The intent is not toreplace the University Catalog or Student Handbook policies, but to specify those policies that are uniqueto this program.Information contained herein, and any other information conveyed to the student, is subject to change atany time by authority of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University. The policies in this handbook aresubject to revision during the effective period of this handbook as determined by the Doctor of PhysicalTherapy Program. When such changes are made, students will be informed of those changes viaelectronic communication modes (e. g., University Web site, e-mail, and Moodle). (See Appendix A).2

DPT PROGRAM ORGANIZATION AND STRUCTUREThe Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program lies within the School of Health Professions.
