My Schoolnet User Guide 1/19/2011 Chapter 1: Welcome to My Schoolnet Overview My Schoolnet is the main landing page, or portal, for logged-in users. It is designed to provide quick, one-click access to Schoolnet applications via customizable Web Parts. As this guide is for all users, what you see on your My Schoolnet portal will depend on what roles and permissions are assigned to you. This chapter provides the following: Web Part descriptions Explanations of why some Web Parts may not display or contain data A matrix that lists the available Web Parts, the applications from which each Web Part derives its data, and a description of the Web Part About Web Parts Parts Web Parts are miniaturized, easy-to-read windows that provide users with timely, focused information. In many cases, that data is derived directly from Schoolnet applications, and all of these Web Parts are located in one centralized interface called My Schoolnet. Your user permissions and roles. Teachers, for example, will see different Web Parts when they log in than will system operators or principals.
