Camp staff will NOT allow any child to walk/bike home from camp alone unless there is a written permission note on file! REGARDING CAMP DISMISSAL Parents/Guardians MUST be on time for pickup! The morning session of camp ends promptly at 12:00 Noon. The afternoon session of camp ends promptly at 3:30 pm. Please do not arrive late for pick-up! If you are late, you will be charged the daily after-care fee. In consideration for all camp staff and for the safety of all campers, please be prompt at dismissal time!

Summer 2022 Dear Parents/Guardians: Welcome to the Margate City Recreation Department’s Summer Recreation Camp. We are looking forward to an incredible summer with many new and exciting activities planned for the campers, including lots of special visitors, events and trips! Weekly camp schedules are available on the first Monday of each new camp week (morning and afternoon sessions). These weekly schedules will help you prepare your child for all camp activities. Additional camp information notices may also be available on a day to day basis so be sure to look for them at the sign-in/sign-out tables. Below are a few important reminders before camp starts: Camp Locations: Radical Recreation Camp @ Eugene A. Tighe School (7804 Amherst Avenue). Terrific Tykes Morning Camp @ William H. Ross III School (101 North Haverford Avenue); afternoon session for six year olds will feed into the Radical Recreation Camp @ Eugene A. Tighe School. Very Important: Please make us aware of any allergies (especially food allergies) and/or conditions your child has that might be a concern while he/she is at camp. Regarding Cell Phones: While we understand the importance of your child having a cell phone, during camp hours all cell phones must be kept in a backpack or in a bag and be used for emergency purposes only. Use of a cell phone to video tape other campers and other such inappropriate use of cell phones will not be tolerated. Campers need to wear comfortable weather appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes (sneakers are recommended). Apply sunscreen to your child prior to the start of camp since campers are often outside during the camp day. Please send your child with a snack and a drink each day. If your child is attending both the morning session and the afternoon session, please send a snack and a drink for BOTH sessions. Campers attending both the morning session and the afternoon session will have a supervised lunch break from 12:00 Noon till 1:00 pm. Please make sure that your child’s lunch is labeled with his/her name on it. Please No Plastic Bags! Campers will enjoy “Wacky Water Days” and “Beach Bash Days” (weather permitting). On these days, all campers should wear bathing suits under their clothing and sandals/flip-flops. Please remember to send a beach towel as well. Campers (ages: 6 & younger) will need a smock for art time; a large shirt will be fine just be sure to write your child’s name on it somewhere. We are looking forward to a wonderful summer!
