Working with our logo April 2018 Our logo A brand is much more than a logo but a logo is a charity’s most important visual signifier. Our logo therefore needs to be integral to all our materials. Our corporate green is pantone 376 Our name prints in 100 per cent black The Barnardo’s and the Believe in Children line are always fused together. After completing a logo request form permission to use any variant of the logo must be obtained from the Barnardo’s Brand team. Email: brand@barnardos.org.uk. If you are an external agency then please ask your Barnardo’s contact to request the logo from the brand team. 3

Working with our logo April 2018 Logo variations When our primary logo cannot be used please use one of the secondary options. Please do not deviate from these options or change the colour of our logo. Primary logo Wherever possible our logo should appear on a white background. Only use the white reversed version when you are restricted by design/printing limitations. Working with our logo April 2018 Logo exclusion zone and positioning BADGE EXCLUSION ZONE This zone is based on the size of our ‘badge’. It should be positioned no less than the exclusion zone measure in from the edge of the page or other graphic elements. To achieve ease of recognition and legibility in both print and digital media the logo must never be reproduced smaller than the following sizes: Print – minimum size 28mm Recommended sizes for logo reproduction: A6 A5 1/3A4 A4 A3 A2 A1 44mm 44mm 40mm 55mm 77mm 110mm 155mm Digital media – minimum size 79px 6

Working with our logo April 2018 Things to avoid As our key visual signifier, our logo must be used correctly across all our communications. Here are some situations to avoid. Sunshine Project DON’T remove our brand message ‘Believe in children.’ DON’T add words or images to the logo. DON’T distort the proportions of the logo. DON’T change the colour of any element of the logo. DON’T place the logo on a background colour or image. DO use the logo artwork provided. 7

Working with our logo April 2018 National logos Each nation has its own logo. For a dedicated Welsh, Scottish or Northern Irish audience, the appropriate logo can be used instead of the UK logo. The same guidelines apply as for the UK logo.
