Acadience MathAcadience Math is a set of brief, standardizedindicators of early numeracy, computation, andproblem-solving skills for grades K–6. AcadienceMath consists of materials for universal screeningthree times a year and more frequent progressmonitoring. The Early Numeracy measures are givenindividually to students in kindergarten and first grade. The Computation measures are group administeredto students in grades 1–6. The Concepts andApplications measures are group administered ingrades 2–6. Acadience Math is aligned with theCommon Core Standards in Mathematics.Research-based benchmark goals are available forall measures and grades. They define a level at whichthe odds are in the student’s favor of meeting latermathematics outcome goals.Data entry and reporting for Acadience Math isavailable through Acadience Data Management.Student licenses for Acadience Data Managementcan be purchased from Voyager Sopris Learning.Acadience Math is also available for purchase fromVoyager Sopris Learning. For more information, iption of the MeasuresEarly Numeracy One-minute measures givenindividually to students in kindergarten and firstgrade. Beginning Quantity Discrimination BQDassesses discrimination between two quantities. It is an indirect measure of subitizing, the abilityto instantly judge the number associated with agroup of items. BQD is administered from thebeginning to the end of kindergarten. Number Identification NID assesses abilityto orally name the numerals 1 through 99. It isadministered from the beginning of kindergartento the beginning of first grade.of kindergarten to the beginning of first grade. Advanced Quantity Discrimination AQDassesses discrimination between two quantities. The student is asked to name the larger of twonumbers. AQD is administered from the beginningto the end of first grade. Missing Number Fluency MNF assesses theability to extend a counting sequence countingby 1s, 5s, and 10s. The student is provided witha sequence of four numbers with one numbermissing and asked to name the missing number.MNF is administered from the beginning to theend of first grade.Computation Computation assesses the basicskills of math computation. It can be administeredindividually or to groups. Students work basiccomputation problems under standardized conditionsand time limits, which depend on grade level.Computation is administered in grades 1–6.Concepts and Applications Concepts andApplications assesses the basic skills ofunderstanding mathematical concepts andvocabulary and applying that knowledge to solvemathematical problems. It can be administeredindividually or to groups. Students work problemsunder standardized conditions and time limits, which are dependent on grade level. Concepts andApplications is administered in grades 2–6.Sample MaterialsSample materials are attached. The samplesinclude student materials for BQD, AQD, and MNF,Computation student worksheets from grades 1 and4, and Concepts and Applications student worksheetsfrom grades 2 and 6.For more information about Acadience Math, contact info@acadiencelearning.org. Next Number Fluency NNF assesses the abilityto extend the counting sequence. The task isadministered orally, with the assessor saying anumber and the student saying the next highernumber. NNF is administered from the beginning 2020 Acadience Learning Inc. All Rights Reserved. Acadience is a registered trademark of Acadience Learning Inc.
