Whether students need to focus on specific topics or chapters, or do aglobal review of Level 2, the Puente can help them.The Puente starts with two Diagnostic Exams, each of which reviews one semester ofLevel 2 ¡Exprésate! Each exam targets key vocabulary and grammar topics and takesone class period to administer. After each exam, you can use the Diagnostic RubricCharts on pp. 13–17 to conduct an item analysis. From the results, you can tailor areview to the topics students missed the most.The Correlations Charts of Student Edition Chapters to Puente Topics is anotherresource for creating a customized review packet. These charts, found on pp. vii-viii,show which Puente vocabulary and grammar topics review the material in a givenLevel 2 ¡Exprésate! Student Edition chapter.The resources that you may select to create a review packet are listed in the Puente’sTable of Contents. They include: 24 two-page Vocabulary Topic Reviews, with illustrated presentations followed bypractice activities and listening activities included on the accompanying Audio CD; 30 two-page Grammar Topic Reviews, with a brief summary of the concept followed by practice activities and listening activities included on the Audio CD; 10 one-page Geoculture Reviews, with maps and puzzles that highlight geographic and cultural content from the Level 2 textbook.Since each set of review sheets focuses on a single topic, Level 2 and 3 teachers willfind many ways to use them to meet their students’ needs and enhance programcontinuity.Level 3 teachers may use some of the review sheets from Part 2 of the Level 2 Puente,to review, re-teach, or present Level 2 topics prior to beginning lessons that build onthose topics in the Level 3 textbook.
