If under theage of 18, students will qualify if they have 1)graduated from high school or 2) passed theCalifornia High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE). El Camino College may admitas a special part-time or special full-time student anyone in grades 11 or 12 who, in theopinion of the college president, may benefit from instruction. Concurrently enrolled11th- and 12th-grade students must complywith all policies, follow all procedures, andmeet all requirements by the publisheddeadlines for each semester and/or term.AttendanceStudents who enroll in a class and do notattend the first scheduled meeting of theclass may be dropped from the roster andtheir place may be given to a waitlistedstudent. During the course of the term,students may be dropped by the instructorfor excessive absences. It is ultimately thestudent’s responsibility to drop a course.

Attendance at California schools. This requirement may be met in either of the following two ways: Total attendance (or attainment of credits earned) in a California high school orequivalent to three or more years of fulltime attendance at California high schools,California high schools established by theState Board of Education, California adultschools (established by a county office ofeducation, a unified school district or highschool, or the Department of Correctionsand Rehabilitation), campuses of the California Community Colleges or a combination of these; or Three or more years of full-time Californiahigh school coursework, and a total ofthree or more years of attendance in California elementary schools, California secondary schools, or a combination of California elementary and secondary schools.2. Completion of a course of study.
