PrefaceThe purpose of this guide is to provide helpful informationabout pre-HE qualifications and other entry routes toHE. It is intended primarily to be a working manual foradmissions tutors in higher education providers (HEPs).It should also be of use and interest to staff in schools,colleges and the FE sector.It is organised in two main parts: the first deals withqualifications available in England, Wales and NorthernIreland; the second concentrates on the educationsystem in Scotland. It therefore contains details of a widerange of qualifications, but concentrates on those atNational Qualifications Framework (NQF) or QualificationsCredit Framework (QCF) levels 2 and 3 or equivalent.Qualifications are listed alphabetically in the main bodyof the guide.
