Harper CE Online OptionsOnline classes can hold some advantages over in-person classes and many of you have responded positivelyto our online offerings. We know that even when the pandemic has receded and we are able to resume in-person classes, there will continue to be demand for online classes.Identifying the Types of Online Classes In This Catalog Live Online Classes : These are classes where an online meeting is being used like anin-person classroom. Days and times for the meetings are specified, with online lectures beingused as the primary way in which course content is being presented. These classes will eitherutilize Webex or Blackboard (with Blackboard Collaborate Ultra for class meetings). Information onyour virtual classroom will come directly from your instructor via email. Self-Paced Online Classes : In these classes, content (lectures, readings, videos, etc.) isplaced on a protected website (Blackboard, in most instances) Some self-paced classes may haveoccasional class meetings, though meetings are not the primary way in which content is beingpresented to you. Self-paced classes will have active instructor participation even without livemeetings. You will receive instructions for accessing the class materials prior to the start of classesvia email.How do I know which is which?Our classes are labeled as “Live Online” and “Self-Paced Online”, so that you know how each class will beconducted.
