Archie PatternYou will need;About 170g of stuffingRed, Blue, Yellow, Green, Black, Cream, Brown and Grey woolSize 3mm needles (old UK size 11)TrousersMake 2 pieces knitted side ways so the rows are vertical, note purl side ofknitting is the right side.Using red cast on 26 sts and st-st 40 rows, cast off looselyJoin the trouser pieces to each other at one cast on and one cast off edge for12 sts only, to form the centre front seam of the trousers. Mark the other caston and cast off edges with coloured threads 12 sts down from the waist edge.At this stage the trousers will appear to be rather short but they will stretch tothe correct length when made up and stuffed.Body and HeadBegin at waist edge of body and using blue cast on 50 sts. Now bring cast on and cast off edges of each trouser piece togetherand join these to form trouser legs.Turn doll right side out and stuff body and lower portion of head through gapin the body seam, ladder st the gap. To shape the neck, use a double strandof cream yarn and gather around first knitted row of cream on the head. Pullup the gathers and knot ends of yarn, then sew ends into neck.Now continue stuffing head through opening at top. Pull up the length of yarntightly then fasten off.
