This vehicle has a higherground clearance and a higher center of gravity than manypassenger vehicles. It is capable of performing better in awide variety of off-road applications. GETTING TO KNOW YOUR VEHICLE 19KEY FOBSYour vehicle uses a key start ignition system. The ignitionsystem consists of a Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) key fobwith an ignition switch.3Key FobThe key fob allows you to lock or unlock the doors andliftgate from distances up to approximately 66 ft (20 m)using a handheld key fob. The key fob does not need to bepointed at the vehicle to activate the system.NOTE: In the ON/RUN position, the lock button is disabled. Only the unlock button is enabled.Key Fob1 — Remote Start Button2 — Lock Button3 — PANIC Button4 — Unlock ButtonTo Unlock The Doors And Swing GatePush and release the key fob unlock button once to unlockthe driver’s door only, or twice to unlock all the doors andswing gate. When the key fob unlock button is pushed, theIlluminated Entry will initiate, and the turn signal lightswill flash twice.
20 GETTING TO KNOW YOUR VEHICLETo Lock The Doors And Swing GatePush and release the lock button on the key fob to lock alldoors. The turn signals will flash, and the horn will chirponce to acknowledge the lock signal.Key Fob Battery ReplacementThe recommended replacement battery is CR2032.NOTE: Perchlorate Material – special handling may apply.See www.dtsc.ca.gov/hazardouswaste/perchlorate .1. With the key fob buttons facing down, use a flat bladescrewdriver to pry the two halves of the key fob apart.Use extreme care not to damage the seal or internalcomponents.Separating Key Fob Halves2. Remove and replace the battery. Avoid touching the newbattery with your fingers. Skin oils may cause batterydeterioration. If you touch a battery, clean it withrubbing alcohol.3. To reassemble the key fob case, snap the two halvestogether.Programming Additional Key FobsIf you do not have a programmed key fob, contact yourauthorized dealer for details.

Push the key and cylinder inward and rotate the key tothe LOCK position.The following regulatory statement applies to all RadioFrequency (RF) devices equipped in this vehicle:4. Remove the key from the ignition switch lock cylinder.This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules andwith Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s).Operation is subject to the following two conditions:1. This device may not cause harmful interference.2.
