VIRTUAL RAKSHA BANDHANDate-03 August 2020Arya College Girls Section celebrated theVirtual Raksha Bandhan festival under theguidance of Incharge Mrs. Suksham Ahluwaliaalong the students and staff members. Studentsprepared hand made rakhi's and conveyed theirwishes through posters & slogans. Mrs. SatishaSharma secretary ACMC expressed hergratitude towards corona warriors andconveyed best wishes to the students. PrincipalArya College Dr. Savita Uppal appreciated theefforts made by staff and students.

DEEPAWALI CELEBRATIONArya college Girls Section and IQAC cell celebratedDeepawali in this wing.On this occasion ACMCsecretary Mrs Satisha Sharma and principal DrSavita Uppal wished Happy Diwali to students andhoped that chanting of OM mantra and lighteningof earthren lamps with faith and hope will helpin eradicating COViD-19. On this occasion RangoliCompetition , best out of waste , Diya and Thalidecoration , posters on Vocal for the Local themeand exhibition of Fashion Designing products wasarranged.The awareness of Vocal for Local was alsotried to spread in common public.On this occasionIQAC co-ordinator Mrs Suksham Ahluwalia(incharge Girls Section) said that we are anxiouslywaiting for our chirpy students.Wearing masks girlsmade rangoli with rainbow colours and invitedGoddess Lakshmi and prayed to Lord Ganesha toremove all obstacles. Girls celebrated Diwali withtheir beautifully decorated thalis and wished forcorona free happy days to return .

WEBINAR ON ‘ SETTING NEW GOALSWHILE STAYING FIT IN COVID 19LOCKDOWN PERIOD’Arya College Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Girls Section cametogether to organise a Webinar on the topic ‘Setting New Goals WhileStaying Fit in Covid 19 Lockdown Period ’on 16th June , 2020. In herinaugural address Principal Dr. Savita Uppal welcomed the eminentspeakers and stressed upon the need to remain mentally strong in thedifficult and depressing times. Prof. Suksham Ahluwalia, CoordinatorIQAC and Incharge Girls Section, reiterated her resolve to ensure that theholistic grooming of her students should continue despite the lockdownthrough online platforms. Dr. Gaurav Uppal, MD DPM Gold Medalistand Consultant Psychiatrist at Sankalp Hospital, Tarn Taran and Mr.Akshat Mohindra, Global Account Manager, Cisco Systems , New Delhi,were the Resource Persons on the panel. Dr. Gaurav Uppal spoke on thetopic MAINTAING MENTAL FITNESS DURING THE STRESSFULLOCKDOWN PERIOD. Mr. Akshat Mohindra spoke on the topicMAKING THE MOST OF THE ENFORCED LOCKDOWNENHANCING EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS. Two students SimarpreetKaur and Kritika Sharma also spoke on the impact of the lockdown on thesociety and the environment. A lively interactive session followed theproceedings at the end. The webinar was conducted by Prof. KumudChawla, Organizing Secretary The Organizing Committee for the eventconsisted of Prof. Rekha Bhanot, Prof. Kiran Kumari, Ms Neeru and MsKajal Sharma The session was very well received by the students.

YOGA WEEKDate-21 June 2020The NSS unit and the Department of Physical Education ofArya College Girls Section Ludhiana celebrated Yoga Weekfrom 15 th to 21st June, 2020. Students participated withgreat zeal and enthusiasm in this Yoga Week by performingyoga at their homes along with their family members. Theysent their videos doing yoga from their homes amidstlockdown. The best twenty of these videos have beenuploaded on the YouTube channel of the College. Prof.Suksham Ahluwalia Incharge Girls Section said that theweek long celebrations were conducted to mark theINTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY on 21 st June, 2020. Theevent will come to a conclusion on Sunday with a LIVEYOGA demonstration on Facebook by Ms. Simmi Makkar,a certified yoga teacher, from 8.30-9.30am Mrs. SatishaSharma, Secretary, ACMC and Principal Dr. Savita Uppal,congratulated the students and the faculty for their activeparticipation.

HINDI DIWASDate- 14 September 2020Hindi Diwas was celebrated virtually in Arya Collegeon 14 sept 2020 in which history and importance ofHindi language wasdiscussed.On this occasionsecretary ACMC Mrs Satisha Sharma ji expressing herviews said that Hindi is our national language andwe Indians should contribute in its proliferation .DrSavita Uppal , principal Arya College said that Hindi hasnow become a forceful language.Studentsrecitedrelevant poems also on this occasion.Mrs SukshamAhluwalia incharge Girls section emphasised on theusage and publicity of this language.Dr Tejinder Bhatia, of the Hindi Deptt.said that Hindi is now recognisedat international level and is progressing rapidly.DrAashish Kumar , of the Sanskrit Deptt also expressedhis views about the importance of Hindi language . Hethanked all the teachers and students in making thisprogramme a grand success.

WEBINAR ON WORLD PEACE DAYDate-22 September 2020A webinar was organised in girls section on the eve of worldpeace day. As the main spokesperson ACMC SecretaryMrs Satisha Sharma told us that 21st september is celebratedas world peace day in the whole world.The main purpose of thisday is to dawn peace on the whole world.She said that wehave to take the vedic feelings of world peace to one and all.Dr Savita Uppal , principal Arya College speaking on thisoccasion said that man is distancing from peace day by day inthe hustle and bustle of life ,so the importance of celebratingthis day is increasing even more.The webinar was organisedby Mrs Suksham Ahluwalia ,incharge Girls Section and sheemphasised on the message that we should play our part intaking the message of world peace in the whole world.Girlspresented their poems also on this occasion. NATIONAL WEBINARDate-14 October 2020IQAC cell Arya College and Music Deptt organised anational webinar in which more than 30 research scholarsof many universities read papers on different topics . RenownProf Pankajmala ji of punjab university presided over thefunction. She judged the papers presented by various scholarsand praised them for their real efforts.Nodoubt research inthe field of music is worth praising.On this occasion secretary ACMC Mrs Satisha Sharma jipraised the efforts of the webinar organiser IQAC ConvenorMrs Suksham Ahluwalia ji. Dr Savita Uppal .principal Aryacollege who herself is a celebrity in the field of music saidthat in this COVID-19 situation , such webinars ate very usefulfor research scholars who get a chance to listen to others andcan get benefitted.The programme was successfully organised by MrsSuksham Ahluwalia convenor IQAC and incharge GirlsSection .She thanked Prof Dr Pankajmala and all researchscholars in the end.Prof Anuradha and Prof Nafeesa of musicdeptt and all teachers were also present in the webinar .

EXTENTION LECTURE ONBALANCED DIETDate- 5 November 2020Under the Gyanvardhini Shrinkhla of IQAC cell of AryaCollege ,Home science deptt of Girls Section organised alecture on Balanced Diet .It was delivered by Dr Prapti Abrolof D.M.C. Heart Institute .Dr Savita Uppal ,principal AryaCollege welcomed Dr Abrol and expressed her views thatpeople are not aware of balanced diet these days.So such alecture is going to be very beneficial . ACMC Secretary MrsSatisha Sharma also praised this effort of IQAC cell. DrAbrol said that if we do not take balanced diet , we have toface many physical problems. HUman body needs proteins,carbohydrates , calcium and vitamins minerals in a balancedamount. Only such a diet can keep us disease free andhealthy.The programme was successfully managed by IQACConvenor Mrs Suksham Ahluwalia which benefitted thestudents immensely. ONLINE FOLK SONG COMPETITIONDate-7 November 2020Music Deptt. organised an online folk song competition to keepalive the traditional music of punjab in tough times of Covid19 . It was a sheer hard work on the part of the co-ordinatorIQAC , Mrs Suksham Ahluwalia (incharge Girls Section ) andMiss Anuradhathat more than 25 entries were received.ACMC secretary Mrs Satisha Sharma applauded this effortby saying that we should not forget our traditional songs andit is our rich culture that boosts our spirit.Dr Savita UppalPrincipal Arya College adjudged the students along with staff ofmusic Deptt. Shreya Sharma of M.C.M D.A.V. college CHD wasjudged as 1st ,Sumanjot Kaur of Mata Ganga Khalsa College,Kotta as 2nd and Amandeep Kaur of Swami Ganga Giri JantaGirls College Raikot as 3rd .Principal Madam congratulatedthe winners.

WEBINAR ONTRANQUILLISATION OF MIND WITH MUSICDate- 9 November 2020IQAC cellOf Arya college in co-ordination with musicdepartment Organized an on line webinar in the series ofGyanvardhini Shrinkhla On Tranquilisation of mind withMusic. It was organized by IQAC cell convenor Mrs SukshamAhluwalia (Incharge Girls Section) and music deptt. OfArya College.Dr Nimita Sharma of G.C.G.was the resourceperson on this occasion.In her lecture she said that music is anatural sedative which relaxes mind and calms it. ACMCsecretary Mrs Satisha Sharma congratulated IQAC ConvenorMrs Suksham Ahluwalia for choosing such an educativetopic.Dr Savita Uppal ,principal Arya college expressed herviews by saying that isotonic waves embedded in music canbe used for deep relaxation and for healing insomnia.The webinar was concluded with a note of thanks by MissAnuradha.

EFFECTS OF LOCKDOWN AND COVID -19Date-10 November 2020IQAC and Commerce Deptt. of Arya College Girls Section organised a virtualwebinar on Effects of Covid -19 and Lockdown on I.T. sector Education,Tourism and Hospitality , E-commerce,Agriculture, Food processing and Healthcare.More than 15 participants took part in the competition.On this occasionDr Savita Uppal ,principal Arya College said that covid -19 and lockdown haveadversely affected the business . Many business enterprises had to bear thebrunt of this. ACMC secretary Mrs Satisha Sharma applauded the efforts ofIQAC cell and Commerce Deptt.Co-ordinator of IQAC cell Mrs Suksham Ahluwalia (Incharge Girls Section)expressed her views that though covid -19 and lockdown have caused lotsof losses to business ,at the same time it has opened new arenas in the fieldof education.One participant in her presentation on E-commerce said that Internet hasgot a big boost in this scenario.Another said that food processing businessis in glut.But education sector has got many new mediums.Prof Ranju Sharma and Prof Nidhi Joshi adjudged the students.Sejal Sharma got 1st prize wheras Joshita Singla and Armeen Kaur weredeclared 2nd and 3rd respectively.The programme was successfully conducted by Prof Aditi Sood and Prof Priyaand Prof.Mamta assisted her .

RALLY ON VOCAL FOR LOCAL AND GREEN DIWALIDate-11 November 2020With the joint efforts of IQAC cell ,N.S.S. unit and socialEnterpreneurship development and community engagement cella rally was arranged in which students holding posters for Vocalfor Local and Green Diwali tried to send this message to thepublic. Speaking on this occasion Dr Savita Uppal , principalArya College said that our Prime Minister Narender Modi jihad given this slogan for making our country self dependentaccording to which local products were given priority.Applauding this effort of girls ACMC secretary Mrs SatishaSharma said that this is an important issue in present timesabout which people should be aware .IQAC co-ordinator andGirls section Incharge Mrs Suksham Ahluwalia said that this isa concrete effort by girls to control pollution in the coronatimes.Dr Rajni ,incharge N.S.S. unit and member ofEnterpreneurship Development and community engagement cellDr Tejinder Bhatia were also present on this occasion.

'Business Quiz'Date-10 December, 2020A 'Business Quiz' was organized by the Department ofCommerce, Arya College Girls Section, Ludhiana. TheQuiz aimed at involving student participation throughinteractive virtual meet. 15 teams participated fromB.com I,II,III and answered various questions fromcurrent affairs, business studies, economics,tax laws,company law, auditing, Accounting and FinancialManagement. The winners of the competition wereNitika, Muskaan Kohli, Nivika, Isha and GagandeepKaur from B.Com III . Himani, Megha, Neetu, Jyotiand Pooja from B.Com II and there was a tie of twoteams from B.Com I. Lady Inchrage, Mrs. SukshamAhluwalia congratulated the winners and inspired thestudents with her motivating words for more suchactive participation in future activities also.

EXTENSION LECTURE CONDUCTED ONHUMAN RIGHTSDate-11 December 2020Arya college Girls section conducted an extension lectureunder Gyanvardhini Shrinkhla under the banner of IQACwith the help of political science deptt.in which chairman ofHuman rights council Sh.Kunwar Onkar Singh Narula wasthe spokesman. More than 100 students participated inthis.Sh Narula ji said that in modern times people are throwinghuman rights to the winds though these are must for ourpersonality.He explained human rights in detail. After thishe answered the questions of students also.Girls made posters also showing violation of Human rights.Concluding the programme prof Rajni Bala thanked themain speaker by saying that our educated society shouldplay an important part in preserving the Human rights. Department of History, Khalsa Collegefor Women, Sidhwan Khurd. Speaking on this topic shesaid that women have always played their part sinceAncient times in different social and religiousrevolutions. In Modern Period of history her role innational movement has beenunparalleled. Shediscussed the women contribution in nationalmovement in detail. Prof Rekha Bhanot of Historydept. thanked the chief spokesperson profusely. POWER POINT PRESENTATIONCOMPETITION ORGANISED ON RAAGSAND TAALSDate-17 December 2020Arya college Girls section conducted a power pointpresentation competition on Raag and Taal in Musicunder the banner of IQAC with the help of music deptt.in which 23 students participated. In their presentationthey introduced Raag Bhopali Raag Bhairavvrindavani sarang raag Aasavari raag etc .Theyintroduced Teen taal ,Chaar taal, Jhoomara taaletc.Dr Savita uppal ,principal Arya college blessed thestudents and praised their music skills. WEBINAR ON THE MARTYR DAY OFSWAMI SHRADHANAND JIDate-23 December 2020Webinar on the martyr day of Swami Shradhanand ji under thebanner of IQAC in Gyanvardhini Shrinkhla with the help of hindidepartment. An essay writing competition was organised onSwami ji's life and sacrifice in which 30 students participated .A documentary was also shown to students about the life ofSwami Shradhanand ji.In the beginning of the Webinar MrsSatisha Sharma, secretary ACMC praised this knowledgeenhancing programme and blessed the students. Dr Savitauppal,principal of Arya college said that this is a nice step toteach the students through this medium. IQAC Convenor andincharge Girls section Mrs Suksham Ahluwalia said that studentswill be immensely benefitted from this great personality and andshe briefed the teachings of Swami ji.Dr Tejinder Bhatia of Hindideptt. and who organised this programme and adjudged thestudents of essay writing said that Swami ji was a great patriotwho sacrificed his life for independence , education and spreadof vedic religion.1st 2nd and 3rd prize winners were given cashprize of 500 300 200 respectively. INTER COLLEGE POEM RECITATION ORGANISEDDate-24 December 2020Online poem recitation competition under the bannerof IQAC in Gyanvardhini Shrinkhla with the help ofEnglish deptt. About 25 students of 12 collegesparticipated in it. IQAC Convenor and Incharge Girlssection Mrs Suksham Ahluwalia welcomed the judgeProf Surmit Singh H.O.D. of Dakha College andpraised the efforts of students who chose relevanttopics for poems.Dr Savita uppal principal Aryacollege said that students should make efforts tospeak in English and poem recitation is a goodmedium for that.Prof Surmit Singh adjudged thestudents very well . 1st prize was bagged by Rhythm2nd by Kanika Chaudhary and 3rdby MehaMaggo.Participation certificates were also given to all.The programme was conducted by Prof AmanpreetKaur and Dr Seema Arora and Prof Kumud ChawlaH.O.D. WEBINAR ORGANIZED ON EFFECTIVECOMMUNICATION SKILLSDate-12-January -2021A 'Skill Development Programme' on 'EnhancingCommunication Skills' was organized by IQAC inCollaboration with Department of Commerce,AryaCollege Girls Section, Ludhiana on 12 January 2021.Communication being the foundation stone ofemployability skill was focused upon and students wereenriched about its importance and how to adapt andmake it an instinctive personality trait . Resourcepersons for the session were Mrs. shilpa MiglaniNarang(Training and Placement officer) & Dr.Inderpreet Kaur ( Astt. Professor in Management) fromGNIMT who discussed about verbal and non-verbalcommunication respectively. It was well acknowledgedby the students and Lady Inchrage & IQAC coordinatorMrs. Susksham Ahluwalia motivated the students tobecome better learner and well versed communicatorwhich indeed will groom their personalities.

TEACHERS' DAY VIRTUALLYANDWELCOMED THE NEW STUDENTSDate-4 September 2020Arya College Girls Section celebrated teachers' Day on 4th Septand at the same time welcomed the students of B.Com and B.A.Ist year. In this critical time of Covid -19, students felicitated theirteachers by poems, speeches,beautiful cards and PPT's on thisoccasion, Principal Dr. Savita Uppal welcomed the new entrantsand expressed her wish that like the old students who broughtlaurels to the college, these new students will also follow theirfootsteps and shall continue the league. Secretary ACMC, MrsSatisha Sharma said that teachers always wish the success of theirstudents. She blessed the new entrants and wished them all the bestfor the new session. Prof ( Mrs.) Suksham Ahluwalia, inchargeGirls Section thanked the students for their felicitation and hopedthat in future college will progress by leaps and bounds.
