SAFE WORK PERMITSR2LB All work tasks requiring a Safe Work Permit must be clearly understood and followed byemployees working under the requirements of the permit. All persons authorizing Safe Work Permits will be trained on required permittingprocedures and processes. BY-PASSING SAFETY-CRITICALEQUIPMENTR2LB All safety critical equipment in the workplace must be identified.No person shall bypass any safety critical equipment without proper authorization to do so.No supervisor shall authorize or direct any person to bypass safety critical equipment withoutobserving requirements outlined in PNR Health and Safety Standard “Bypassing Safety CriticalEquipment.”PURPOSE To prevent serious injury to personnel, damage to equipment, and interruption of business.H OW ( T O A C C O M P L I S H ) Follow PNR Health and Safety Standard “Bypassing Safety Critical Equipment.”Maintain effective lines of communication with all affected personnel during bypassing process.WHERE (IDENTIFIABLE) Safety-critical equipment includes but is not limited to:— Emergency Shut Down Devices— Pressure Relief Devices— Blow Out Preventers— Crane Computers— Fire and Gas Alarms— Critical Controls and Alarms— Vehicle Monitoring Systems3Privileged and Confidential

CONFINED SPACE ENTRYR2LB No person shall enter a confined space except:–Employees who have been specifically trained on the proper procedure(s) forentering a Confined Space; or– Approved contractors who are qualified to enter Confined Spaces.No supervisor shall authorize or direct an unqualified person to enter a confined space,under any circumstance.PURPOSE To ensure employee safety when confined space entry is necessary.H OW ( T O A C C O M P L I S H ) Follow PNR Health and Safety Standard “Confined Space Entry.”WHERE (IDENTIFIABLE) Confined spaces may include, but are not limited to:–––Stationary or mobile tanks and vessels.Plant or field equipment that a person can bodily enter.Excavations or pits.4Privileged and Confidential

ENERGY ISOLATIONR2LB No person shall perform work that requires isolation of hazardous energy withoutfollowing proper energy isolation requirements. No person shall work on energized equipment without proper qualification andappropriate protective equipment. No supervisor shall authorize or direct any person to perform work on energizedequipment without observing proper energy isolation requirements.PURPOSE To ensure control of ALL hazardous energy sources during construction, maintenance,and servicing of machinery or equipment.— Types of hazardous energy include: Electrical, Pressurized Liquids and Gases,Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Residual Stored, Chemical, Thermal,Gravitational, and Nuclear.H OW ( T O A C C O M P L I S H ) Follow PNR Health Safety Standard “Energy Isolation.”Follow Equipment Specific Energy Isolation Procedures (ESEIPs) to accomplish thistask.5Privileged and Confidential

FALL OR ELEVATED WORK SAFETYR2LB Any worker exposed to a fall from a work surface (an open-sided platform, floor, balcony,etc.) that is four feet above the ground or the next lower level, are required to use someform of qualified fall protection system. Any worker exposed to overhead hazards must be properly protected from the hazards.PURPOSE To ensure all personnel are protected from falls and fall hazards.H OW ( T O A C C O M P L I S H ) Follow PNR Health and Safety Standard “Fall or Elevated Work Safety”.Follow area-specific procedures and utilize proper tools and protective equipmentneeded to safely complete the task.6Privileged and Confidential

EXCAVATION AND TRENCHINGR2LB Work involving an excavation or trench will only be allowed after a formal siteevaluation has been conducted (including one call), work permits have beenobtained (if necessary), and soil has been classified. Prior to entering any excavation or trench, soil movement must be controlled toprevent collapse, and ground stability revalidated after adverse weather conditions.PURPOSE To ensure all personnel are protected while working in or around excavations andtrenches.H OW ( T O A C C O M P L I S H ) Follow PNR Health and Safety Standard “Excavation and Trenching”.Excavation and trenching operations shall only be performed by properly trainedpersonnel, and will require the authorization and oversight of a qualified person.7Privileged and Confidential
