High School Dual EnrollmentElizabethtown College/Elizabethtown Area High SchoolAdmission to Elizabethtown College is a selective process.Admissions Requirements:! Admissions Application Form (2 pages)! NO APPLICATION FEE! Guidance Counselor Recommendation! High School TranscriptTuition is 200 per credit. The Business Office bills the student directly.We will begin accepting applications/registrations from high school students for fall 2017 beginningMarch 15, 2017.! The website will reflect which courses remain open.! The deadline for fall 2017 registration is May 1, 2017The high school registration form for high school students includes basic student information:! Name! Address! home phone! email address! birth date! social security information! parents’ names! Students list the courses in which they are interested! Both the student and the guidance counselor must sign this form.! The counselor’s signature signifies that the high school has determined that the student is ableto handle college-level work and that they have worked with the counselor to incorporate thecourse into their schedule.! The student’s signature authorizes us to notify the counselor if they receive an early warning orany other indication of academic difficulty and to send a copy of their grade report to the highschool upon completion of the course.Guidance counselors and students should be able to access up-to-date information on courseavailability on the Registration & Records web site:! courselistings.aspx . Please look underSelect Criteria for Course Selection. Please choose “Year and Term” and select “Search Now”.This lists ALL courses, so you’ll need to check to see whether they are labeled as Open, Closed,or Cancelled.! Most of the courses are four credits.! The earlier the students complete and submit the registration form to admissions, the morelikely classes will be available.! The online listing also will provide necessary information on prerequisites, restrictions,etc. Courses with prerequisites would not be appropriate unless the students have taken the

necessary courses previously. Please check the online catalog at www.etown.edu/catalog tosee what they are.! Courses marked “RBI” or “Register by Instructor” require special permission from the instructorand we would have to obtain approval before putting them in the class.Students are generally permitted to register in any open, entry-level courses that do not haveprerequisites.There is a language placement test available to determine which level they should be in, or students areput in direct contact with the Modern Languages Department. To access the online languageplacement test, please go guage-placement.aspx.Math placement is based on information from the high school in terms of which courses they’ve alreadyhad, SAT scores, etc. Permission must be granted by the Mathematics Department Chair.The Admissions Office does not guarantee the availability of courses to high schoolstudents. Registration is contingent on space available in the course.Classes usually meet one to three times a week. Class lengths vary from an hour and a quarter to twohours, or even three for labs.High school students are required to attend orientation scheduled one week prior to the beginning ofclasses.! Upon payment of tuition, students will receive a temporary ID card for the semester which willallow them to borrow books from the library.! Many courses require students to have a campus network account and email here in order toget assignments and post assignments.! A temporary parking tag is issued for students driving to campus during the day. No additionalfees are charged for these items.!
