Battery Charger - Phase Three Series ModularThe PTMS charger provides a significantimprovement in DC system reliability by utilizingmultiple independent charger modules that pluginto the bulkhead mounted case, and should afault occur in one module, the system continues tooperate, thus is considered "fault" tolerant.TYPE APPROVED PRODUCTThe system consists of a wall mount case which serves as connectionpoint to AC input and 24V, 3 battery bank output and contains threefront-facing power bays, each accommodating a 22.5 amp chargermodule which slides and locks in place creating a 24V, 67 ampcharger. If a module fault occurs, a front panel indicator and alarmrelay is activated and the system continues operating on the othermodules.A fourth bay houses the "smart" controller circuit that provides 3 stepcharging, battery type selector switch, temperature compensation, system status LED's, alarm contacts and indicators. Should thecontroller suffer a fault, the charger will still operate at full power atfloat voltage mode. The controller module is also configured for easyplug-in replacement in the field.Vessel operators appreciate this system approach to reliabilityand serviceability whereby a fault in one of the modules is easilyidentified and it can be quickly replaced with an on-hand spare oran exchange unit from the factory, all the while the charging systemand the vessel continue to operate.Redundant, independant charger modulesincrease reliability - if one malfunctions, theremaining modules continue to operate.System SpecificationsInput Voltage/Frequency: 90-264 VAC, 47-63 Hz,Battery Type Selector: Lead Acid/AGM/Gel-CellBattery Banks: 3Temperature Compensation Sensor (Optional):Model: TCS-12/24Status IndicatorsOutput OK, No Output, Check System, Battery Too Hot,Total Output Bar Graph,Remote Monitor Outputs (Form C): AC Fail/Module Fail/Low VoltageTemperature Rating0-60 C; derate linearly from 100% output @ 50 C to 80%output @ 60 CEngine roominstallation.MechanicalCase Material: Powder Coated Stainless SteelCooling: Forced air per moduleCompliancesABS type approved redundant power system for essentialservices and as a battery charger, CE Mark, UL RecognizedPower ModulesModelPTMS-24-67Articulated tug barges utilize PTMSChargers to maintain batteries andsupply power to essential services.DimensionsWeight@ 115/230 VAC(H x W x D)Lbs.18/920.9” x 10.9” x 8.8”35ModulesMax OutputMax Input AmpsInstalledAmps @ 24V367DC Power Onboard5Newport Beach, CA USAwww.newmarpower.com 800-854-3906

DC UPSElectronics require a clean and reliable source of DC power for proper operation, they are highly vulnerable to shut down /reboot / data corruption caused by power drop out during engine start and low voltage from over worked batteries. RFInterference generated by alternators and motors also impedes proper operation.A DC UPS is the remedy to these issuesBelow are several choices of DC UPS solutions, depending on the type, duration, severity of power issue encountered, and levelof protection desired.Protection During Engine StartStartGuardThis unit has an internal battery that supplies supplemental power to electronics during theengine cranking cycle when there is an abrupt voltage drop caused by the high amperage drawof the starter motor. A sense wire connected to the start switch brings the battery online wheneverthe engine is cranked. This prevents reboot, memory dump, and loss of data in GPS, sounders, andradios.ModelNS-12-20Input12VOutput12V, 20ASize (H x W x D) Weight8.25” x 4.9” x 3.5” 5.5 Lbs.Back-Up20 Amps for 1 min.Continuous ProtectionThe Nav-Pac and MDP contain an internal battery that supports electronics when primary input power falters or altogetherfails.Nav-Pac Mobile Data Power Internal 5AH battery Internal 7AH battery Recharges directly fromprimary voltage source Internal 3 stage charger maintainsbattery in peak condition Filters electronic interference Filters electronic interference absorbsline voltage spikes Absorbs line voltage spikes Available in 12 volt, 20 ampand 24 volt, 15 amp modelsModelNP-12NP-24Input12V24VOutput12V, 20A24V, 15ASize (H x W x D5.25” x 6.2” x 7.5”6” x 6.75” x 7.5”Weight6 Lbs.8 Lbs.
