Dash Disassembly 99-3033Chevrolet Caprice/Impala 1985-19901. Open the glove box and remove (4)hex head screws from the door hinge.(Figure A)2. Remove (2) hex head screws from thetop of the glove box liner. (Figure A)Heatercontrolcluster3. Remove the retainer clip from theheater cable control lever.4. Remove (1) hex head screw from thetab securing the cable and disconnect.SupportplateRadio dummy panel5. Remove the ashtray cavity and (2) hexhead screws exposed in the ashtraycavity. (Figure A)(Figure A)6. Remove (2) hex head screws fromabove the climate controls and pull thesupport plate assembly from the dash.7. Remove (2) hex head screws securingthe climate control cluster to thesupport plate.8. Remove (5) hex head screws securingthe climate control cluster/head unitdummy panel assembly to the supportplate and remove the assembly.Continue to kit assembly3

Kit Assembly 99-3033Kit preparation1. Secure the radio housing to thesupport plate with (2) hex head screwspreviously removed. (Figure A)2. Mount the climate control cluster tothe front of the support plate with (2)hex head screws previously removed.(Figure B)3. Secure the climate controlcluster/radio housing assembly to thesupport plate with (5) hex head screwspreviously removed. (Figure C)(Figure A)Continue to kit assembly(Figure B)(Figure C)4

Kit Assembly 99-3033DIN head unit provision1. Slide the DIN cage into the RadioHousing and secure by bending themetal locking tabs down. (Figure A)2. Slide the after-market head unit into thecage and secure. Snap trim plate intothe radio housing.3. Locate the factory wiring harness in thedash. Metra recommends using theproper mating adapter from Metra orAXXESS. Re-connect the negativebattery terminal and test the unit forproper operation.(Figure A)4. Reassemble dash in reverse orderof disassembly.5. Mount the support plate assembly tothe sub-dash with (4) hex-head screwspreviously removed on page 1. (Be surethe rear support bullet engages the rearsupport bracket in the dash). (Figure B)(Figure B)5

Slide the head unit into the radioopening until the side clips engage.3. Snap the Trim plate into theRadio Housing.4. Locate the factory wiring harness in thedash. Metra recommends using theproper mating adapter from Metra orAXXESS. Re-connect the negativebattery terminal and test the unit forproper operation.(Figure A)5. Reassemble dash in reverse orderof disassembly.6. Mount the support plate assembly tothe sub-dash with (4) hex-head screwspreviously removed on page 1. Desmontaje del tablero 99-3033Chevrolet Caprice/Impala 1985-19901. Abrir el compartimiento de guantesy quite los (4) tornillos de cabezahexagonal de la puerta. (Figura A)Placa desoporteCalentadorde grupode control2. Quite 2 tornillos de cabeza hexagonalde encima de la tela cubridora delcompartimiento de guantes. (Figura A)3. Quite la presilla que sujeta el cable quecontrola el nivel de calentador.4. Quite (1) tornillo de cabeza hexagonalde la lengüeta que sostiene el cabley desconéctelo.Radio del panel simulado(Figura A)5. Quite el cenizero y los (2) tornillos decabeza hexagonal expuestos en lacavidad del cenizero. (Figura A)6. Quite los (2) tornillos de cabezahexagonal que sujetan el control delclima a la placa de soporte.7. Ensamble del kit 99-3033Kit de ensamblaje1. Asegure el alojamiento del radio a laplaca de soporte con los (2) tornillosde cabeza hexagonal, que fueronremovidos previamente. (Figura A)2. Coloque el control del clima al frente dela placa de soporte con los (2) tornillosde cabeza hexagonal, que fueronremovidos previamente. (Figura B)3. Asegure el control delclima/ensamblaje de alojamiento delradio a la palca de soporte con (5)tornillos de cabeza hexagonal, quefueron removidos previamente.(Figura C)(Figura A)Continuará la preparación del kit(Figura B)(Figura C)4

Ensamble del kit 99-3033Provisiones de unidad central DIN1. Deslize la caja del DIN en elalojamiento del radio y asegúrelodoblando la lengüeta de la cerradura demetal hacia abajo. (Figura A)2. Deslize la unidad central de posventa en la caja y asegúrela. Coloquela placa de terminación en elalojamiento del radio.3. Ubique el arnés del cableado de fábricaen el tablero. Metra recomienda usar eladaptador de acoplamiento adecuadode Metra o AXXESS. Vuelva a conectarel terminal negativo de la batería ypruebe la unidad para verificar quefuncione correctamente.(Figura A)4. Vuelva a montar el tablero en formainversa al desmontaje.5. Coloque el ensamblaje de la placade soporte al tablero posterior con4 tornillo de cabeza hexagonal loscuales fueron removidos previamente.(Asegúrese que el soporte de atrásencaje con las agarraderas de soportetraseras en el tablero). Ensamble del kit 99-3033Provisión de unidad central ISO DIN1. Coloque las agarraderas ISO ala unidad central con los tornillossuplidos con la unidad. (Figura A)2. Deslize la unidad central en laapertura del radio hasta que lasagarraderas laterales encajen.3. Coloque la placa de terminacion en elalojamiento del radio.4. Ubique el arnés del cableado de fábricaen el tablero. Metra recomienda usar eladaptador de acoplamiento adecuadode Metra o AXXESS. Vuelva a conectarel terminal negativo de la batería ypruebe la unidad para verificar quefuncione correctamente.(Figura A)5. Vuelva a montar el tablero en formainversa al desmontaje.6.
