1. ABOUT THE INSTITUTIONGovt. Arya Degree College, Nurpur an institution of academic excellence was established as Arya Collegefor Girls in June, 1978 with a meagre strength of 20 girls. The institution was started in the sacred memoryof Swami Dayanand Saraswati whose name stands among the greatest social and religious reformers ofmodern India, who propounded that knowledge should be imparted without prejudice of caste, creed andsex and that the basic purpose of propagating real education is to inculcate love for Indian cultural ethicsin consonance with the Vedic ideas of universal brotherhood.The Arya Girls College was taken over by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on 25th June, 2002 as aco-educational institution and named as Govt. Arya Degree College, Nurpur with only Arts stream. Butfrom the academic session 2009-10, this institution also started Science (Medical & Non-Medical) andCommerce classes thereby fulfilling the long standing demand and aspirations of the people of this area.The college today, no doubt boosts of competent and devoted staff, both teaching and non-teaching, wellequipped Science Labs., well -stocked Library, wi-fi connectivity and a self contained campus. The collegehas three fully functional smart class rooms and one Computer Lab. that can accommodate 40 students.The college has indeed grown leaps and bounds over the years and is still progressive in terms ofinfrastructure and quality education.From June 2017, college started Bachelor of Vocation Degree (B.Voc.) PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION1.2.3.4.5.6.The candidate desirous of seeking admission should fill in the prescribed Application Form appendedto the Prospectus is available in the college office on payment of j 80/- in cash. The followingdocuments should be attached with the Application Form :Two Passport size photographs.One Passport size photograph of either of parents to be affixed on PTA Membership form.Attested copies of Certificates (Matric onwards)Original Character Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution last attended or a gazettedofficer or any other competent authority in case of candidates who have passed the qualifyingexamination privately and gap cases.One stamp sized photograph for Identity card.Original Migration Certificate with one attested copy from Board / University other than H.P. Board ofSchool Education / H.P. University.In case of non-availability of migration certificate at the time of seeking admission, the candidate maybe admitted provisionally, till the production of Migration Certificate within a stipulated period i.e. 20days after admission failing which his/her admission is liable to be cancelled.After filling up the form, the candidate is required to submit the form with subject (DSC)teacher who will verify the original certificates for determining eligibility for admission.Admission will be granted on merit basis. List of admitted candidates will be displayed after thelast day of submission of form. Student appearing in merit list will have to pay fee / dueswithin 7 (seven) days.Candidates are also advised to bring their parents / guardian with them for signing thedeclaration before the Admission Committee.7. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSIONststFor B.A./B.Com./B.Sc. 1 YearAge Limit: An applicant must not be more than 23 years (25 years for girls) of age as on 1st July of the year2020 i.e. must not have born earlier to 01-07-1997 (01-07-1995 for girls). Only the Vice-Chancellor shallhave the power of granting age relaxation upto a maximum of 6 months. For SC/ST students however theage limit will be raised by 3 years.Minimum Pass Percentage for admission in different faculties is given as :sti) B.A. 1 (Bachelor of Arts)stA student seeking admission to B.A. 1 with Mathematics as one of the subject of study should haveeither 45% marks in aggregate or 45% marks in Mathematics at 2 level.stii) B.Com. 1 (Bachelor of Commerce)a) 40% for those who has passed examination under Commerce group at 2 level.b) 45% for others.stc) For admission to B.Com. 1 Year the candidate must have passed Maths/Economics as compulsorysubjects with 45% marks at his/her 2 level. There is relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST students foradmission to Commerce facultyiii) B.Sc. 1st (Bachelor of Science) - 45%***Candidate must have Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Mathematics as compulsory subject at 2 level.There is relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST students for admission to Science faculty.Students who are placed under compartment at 2 level are not eligible to seek admission instB.A./B.Com./B.Sc. 1 Year.A CANDIDATE WHO HAS PASSED 10 2 EXAMINATION IN FOUR COMPULSORY SUBJECTS(including English) FROM ANY UNIVERSITY/BOARD RECOGNISED BY LAW CAN SEEKADMISSION.STUDENTS WHO ARE PLACED UNDER COMPARTMENT IN ANY EXAMINATION OF ANOTHERBOARD/UNIVERSITY SHALL NOT APPLY EVEN FOR PROVISIONAL ADMISSION TO THE NEXTHIGHER CLASS IN THIS COLLEGE.7

NOTE: Rules regarding eligibility conditions for admission to B.A./B.Com./B.Sc.1st Yearare subject to change as per the directions of H.P. Govt./ H.P.U. Shimla.8. RULES FOR REFUSAL OF ADMISSION / RE-ADMISSION1.Notwithstanding eligibility for admission, the Principal may refuse admission in any of thefollowing cases.i)If the conduct of the student has been found unsatisfactory during the previous session.ii) On the ground of inadequate capacity in a particular class.iii) On the ground of indiscipline, misbehaviour, misconduct, ragging including unruly riotous acts.2.Students found indulging in ragging shall summarily be expelled from the college.3.Name of a student who remains absent continuously for a period of ten days without anysanctioned leave shall be struck off the college rolls.4.A student whose name has been struck off twice shall not be re-admitted in the session.5.In case the name of the candidate is struck off because of continuous absence of 10 days or anyindiscipline, the re-admission is permissible within one week subject to the satisfaction ofconcerned teachers/discipline committee with a re-admission fee of Rs. 100/- failing which his/hername will stand struck off permanently.6.In case of the name of candidate is struck off again because of any reason mentioned above the readmission is permissible within one week on payment of Rs. 200/- as second re-admission fee in thepresence of the parents only ; failing which after 7 days his/her name will permanently bestruck off the college Rolls and not be granted re-admission at all.9. FEES & FUNDSInstruction for Payments of Fees & Funds :1. a) Every student must pay his/her dues on the dates notified from time to time.b) Failure to pay dues on due date will entail a fine of Re.1/- per day.c) In case of non-payment of dues in advance, the name of the student will be struck off the rolls at theend of that month.d) The fine will be collected at the time of verification of roll numbers.2.The following categories of students are exempted from the payment of Tuition fee :(Subject to production of bonafide certificate of H.P. State).i) Wards of Kargil Martyrs.ii) All Girls who are bonafide residents of H.P.iii) Physically handicapped students with more than 40% disability.3. a) Migration fee : Rs 50/b) Contribution towards PTA fund : Rs 40/- per month per student (at the time of admission)4.Fees / Funds are to be paid without late fee/fine on the date fixed for each class notified from time totime. Late fee / fine will be charged for payment after due date for a particular period/time fixed bythe Principal. Thereafter, the name of the defaulters will be struck off the college rolls.5.The Library security of a student shall lapse if a student does not apply for refund by 10th May of thenext year.6.Fee/Fine/other dues once paid shall not be refunded except in exceptional cases which is permissibleas per rules.8
