S t a n d a r d s1. Genuine Goodyear welt construction.Top quality leather welting is securelystitched through the upper to the insolerib. On models requiring the cleanappearance of a close heel trim thewelt runs from the heel forward. Forother styles, such as brogues, wherethe solid look of an extended heel trimis appropriate the welt is stitched allaround the shoe.o fQ u a l i t y5. Every Alden New England shoecarries a tempered steel shank, preciselycontoured and triple ribbed for extrastrength.
