Special devices or cables arenecessary. For more information about preparation,contact the specialized stores.Wireless antenna: Used for Wi-Fi connection or whenusing a Bluetooth enabled device. TX-8140 mst.book11 �後1時34分Connections The power cord must be connected only after all othercable connections are completed.12 - 15 mm (1/2” - 5/8”)Connecting speakersItDeLeft speakerTwist the wires of the speaker cable tightly beforeinserting into the terminals. After inserting the cables,tighten the terminals firmly by turning to the right. Notethat when using commercially available banana plugs,first tighten the speaker terminals and then insert thebanana plugs. It is not possible to connect by insertingthe core of the speaker cable directly into the hole for abanana plug.Right speakerWhen connecting only one set of speakers, connect tothe SPEAKERS A terminals as shown in the illustration.Make correct connection between the unit’s jacks andspeaker’s jacks (i to i and j to j) for each channel. Ifconnection is wrong, a bass sound may become poor dueto reverse phase.0 Connect speakers with 4 h to 16 h impedance. Youhave to change the impedance setting if any of thespeakers have 4 h or more to less than 6 himpedance. See setup menu “3. Hardware” - “SpeakerImpedance” ( 34).Banana plugWhen also connecting to the SPEAKERS B terminals:Connect using the same method described forSPEAKERS A. Connect speakers with 8 h to 16 himpedance to the both A/B terminals. In this case, changethe impedance setting on this unit. See setup menu “3.Hardware”-“Speaker Impedance” ( 34).0 Press the SPEAKER A/B button on the unit or theremote control to switch the speakers. TX-8140 mst.book12 �後1時34分ConnectionsWhen connecting a subwoofer:Connecting a playerYou can enjoy the audio from players such as televisions,Blu-ray disc players, and game consoles.DIGITAL IN connectionIf the player has an optical or coaxial digital outputterminal, connect using either a digital optical cable ordigital coaxial cable to one of the DIGITAL IN terminals.To play, select the terminal name with the INPUTSELECTOR.Subwoofer with built-in amplifierUse a subwoofer cable to connect the SUBWOOFERPRE OUT jack to the LINE INPUT terminal on asubwoofer with built-in amplifier.0 Audio is not output from the SUBWOOFER PRE OUTjack when you set SPEAKER B as the speakers tooutput audio.The following connections can cause damage so pleasebe careful.Short-circuiting the i cable and jcableContacting the cable core to the rearpanel of the unitConnecting two or more cables to onespeaker terminal of this unitConnecting two or more cables to oneterminal of a speaker12Note that this unit is equipped with an “Opt1 In Wakeupfeature” so that when play starts on a player connected tothe OPTICAL 1 (GAME) terminal, this unit comes on andthe INPUT SELECTOR automatically changes. ( 34)0 The DIGITAL IN terminals can only handle PCMsignals.0 As the digital in optical jack of the unit has a cover,push in the cable straight against the cover as it isturned inside.
