Letter from the District SuperiorDear Faithful,We are invited to a new Rosary Crusade from January 1, 2014 to theFeast of Pentecost (June 8, 2014). This is an occasion to revive our devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.A Rosary Crusade is a spiritual expedition or campaign to obtain special blessings and graces from God. Here are the goals:-- To implore from the Immaculate Heart of Mary a special protection forthe traditional apostolate;-- For the return to Tradition within the Church;-- For the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the consecrationof Russia. In addition to saying the rosaries we are invited to special generosity, for example:-- Prayer and penance as asked for at Fatima;-- Sanctification through the duty of state;-- A spirit of sacrifice in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.We need an on-going spirit of Crusade to renew our spiritual life, toparticipate in this triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to obtainfrom God a blossoming of His Church, to be protected in danger. With that in mind, at the end of this Rosary Crusade on the Feast ofPentecost, we will have a Statue of Our Lady of Fatima starting a pilgrimage across the District of the United States of America to maintain in usthe crusader spirit and call many others to join us. This Pilgrim Statue ofOur Lady will be taken from chapel to chapel all around the country. Onthat occasion, a Marian mission in honor of her Immaculate Heart will beheld in order to form in our hearts a true and profound devotion to Her.Sure of your generous and enthusiastic response to this great cause,I am most happy to bless your efforts for the greater glory of God and ofour Beloved Mother. In the Immaculate Heart of Mary,Father Arnaud RostandDecember 8, 20144

Extract from the SuperiorGeneral’s Letter #81Prayer and PenanceIn this dramatic context, it seems to us essential to launch a newcrusade in the same spirit as the preceding ones, keeping in view therequests and the promises of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as they wereexpressed at Fatima, but insisting more this time on its universal character. We have to put our whole heart, our whole soul into this new crusade:not just being content with the daily recitation of the Rosary, but carefully carrying out Our Lady’s second request, which is penance. Prayerand penance. Penance, understood certainly as the acceptance of certainforms of self-denial, but especially as the very faithful performance of ourduties of state.A Crusade Centered on the MassThis is why this fourth crusade will be based on the one desired byArchbishop Marcel Lefebvre in 1979. A crusade centered on the HolyMass, which is the source of all grace, of all virtue. In the sermon at hispriestly jubilee in Paris, he forcefully called us to a threefold crusade: acrusade of youth, a crusade of families, a crusade of heads of families forChristian civilization.Do Not Abandon My SacrificeIn that sermon, our venerable founder declared:“I think I can say that we should have a crusade based on the HolySacrifice of the Mass, on the Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, on thatinvincible rock, that inexhaustible source of grace which is the Mass.We must undertake a crusade, a crusade which is based specifically onthis idea of sacrifice, in order to recreate Christendom, to re-establish aChristendom such as the Church desires, such as she has always done, with the same principles, the same Sacrifice of the Mass, the same sacraments, the same catechism, the same Sacred Scripture. We must recreatethis Christendom! It is to you, my dear brethren, you who are the salt ofthe earth and the light of the world, you to whom Our Lord Jesus Christaddressed Himself in saying: ‘Do not waste the fruit of My Blood, do notabandon My Calvary, do not abandon My Sacrifice.’ And the Virgin Mary, who stands beneath the Cross, tells you this as well; she, whose heart ispierced, full of sufferings and sorrows, and yet filled with the joy of unit5

ing herself to the Sacrifice of her divine Son, she too says it to you: ‘Let usbe Christians, let us be Catholics!’”Embrace the Cross of Our LordArchbishop Lefebvre described the role that everyone—young people, families, heads of families—had to play in this crusade:“If we want to go to heaven we must follow Our Lord Jesus Christ, carry our cross and follow Our Lord Jesus Christ, imitating Him in his Cross,in his suffering, in his sacrifice. Thus, I ask the youth, the young peoplewho are here in this hall, to ask the priests to explain to them thesethings that are so beautiful and so great, so as to choose their vocations, and in whatever calling they may choose—be they priests or religiousmen and women, or married—they embrace the Cross of Our Lord. If theychoose to form a family under the sacrament of matrimony, and thereforeunder the Cross of Jesus Christ and the Blood of Jesus Christ, married bythe grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, let them understand the greatness ofthis path and let them prepare themselves worthily for it by purity andchastity, by prayer and reflection. Let them not be carried away by allthe passions which agitate the world. Thus, let this be the crusade of theyoung who must aspire to the true ideal!“Let it be, as well, a crusade of Christian families. You Christian families who are here, consecrate your families to the Heart of Jesus, to theEucharistic Heart of Jesus, and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Praytogether in the family! Oh, I know that many of those among you alreadydo so, but may there always be more and more of you who do so fervently!Let Our Lord truly reign in your homes! .”Have Confidence in the Grace of the Mass“Finally, a crusade for the heads of families. You who are heads of yourhouseholds, you have a serious responsibility in your countries. Just afew moments ago you sang, Christus vincit, Christus regnat, Christusimperat! Are these just words, mere lyrics, mere songs? No! They must bea reality. You heads of families, you are the ones responsible for that, bothfor your children and for the generations to come. Thus, you should organize yourselves now—hold meetings and come to an understanding, sothat France [your country] might become Christian again, Catholic again. It is not impossible—otherwise one would have to say that the grace ofthe Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is no longer grace, that God is no longerGod, that Our Lord Jesus Christ is no longer Our Lord Jesus Christ. Onemust have confidence in the grace of Our Lord, for Our Lord is all-powerful. I have seen this grace at work in Africa—there is no reason why itshould not be at work here as well, in our countries.”6

Spread This CrusadeThen, addressing his priests in particular, Archbishop Lefebvre askedthem:“And you, dear priests, who are listening to me now, you too must forma profound priestly union to spread this crusade, to organize this crusadeso that Jesus Christ might reign. And in order to do that you must be holy, you must seek sanctity and manifest sanctity, this grace which acts inyour souls and in your hearts, this grace which you receive by the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and by the Holy Mass which you offer. Youalone can offer it.”Encouraged by these vibrant words of our founder, all the membersof the Society will join with you, dear faithful, in a great crusade for OurLord and his reign, for Our Lady and the triumph of her ImmaculateHeart. When we have a declared enemy, as the Apocalypse puts it, wemust respond to his attacks proportionately. God wills it!Adopt a Permanent Spirit of CrusadeWe encourage you therefore to adopt a permanent spirit of crusade, although, because of human considerations, we will officially begin thisnew Rosary crusade on January 1, 2014, and conclude it on the Feast ofPentecost (June 8, 2014) for the purpose of collecting a spiritual bouquetof five million Rosaries in reparation for the outrages committed againstthe honor of Our Lady, against her Heart as a Virgin and Mother of God.We commend to her maternal goodness your sufferings and your joys, your cares and your hopes, so that she may keep you all faithful to theChurch, until heaven. On the feast of St. Nicholas, December 6, 2013 Bernard Fellay2014 Rosary Crusade IntentionsJanuary 1 until June 8, 2014Goal: 5 million RosariesMeans:1) To implore from theImmaculate Heart of Marya special protection for thetraditional apostolate;2) F or the return to Traditionwithin the Church;3) F or the triumph of theImmaculate Heart of Mary bythe consecration of Russia.1) Prayer and penance as askedfor at Fatima;2) S anctification through theduty of state;3) S pirit of sacrifice in unionwith the Holy Sacrifice of theMass.7

If there be any doubt, the best thing is simplyto ask your priest for advice. We here give you some examples of varioussacrifices and good works. Remember, the more these sacrifices help us tofulfill our Catholic duties according to our state of life, the better they arefor our sanctification and the more they please Almighty God.Offer up these sacrifices in union with the sacrifice of Our Lord on theCross, renewed daily on the altar.8ChildrenAdultsBeing attentive at schoolBeing attentive while prayingSaying our morning and nightprayers wellDoing homework first, beforesports or playHelping at homeKeeping the bedroom cleanActs of obedienceGiving up candy and dessertsGiving up video games, movies ortelevisionObeying right awayNot procrastinating with choresNot talking back to parentsNot complainingBeing respectfulPreparing well for confessionFrequent spiritual communionsBeing attentive while prayingBeing attentive during MassMeals on time and in commonKeeping a good scheduleKeeping the house cleanAvoiding internet and moviesBeing punctual for workBeing attentive at workReturning home on timeAvoiding wasting timeNot being obstinate with ouropinionsModeration in food and drinkNot complainingBearing our tribulations wellPreparing well for confessionGoing often to Holy CommunionFrequent spiritual communionsFrequent confession

192 pp. – Softcover – STK# 8133 – 17.95The Immaculata,Our IdealFr. Karl Stehlin, SSPXThis book by Fr. Karl Stehlin of the Eastern EuropeanDistrict of the Society of Saint Pius X is partly biographicalbut primarily focuses on St. Maximilian Kolbe’s apostolateof spreading devotion to Our Immaculate Lady following themethod of St. Louis de Montfort. Father debunks the typicalmyths of this so-called “Saint of Ecumenism” and shows hisconcern with combatting heresy, liberalism, modernism, and Freemasonry. He also shows St. Maximilian preachingthe need to convert. heretics and Jews. One of the bestfeatures of this book is that Fr. Stehlin continually relatesKolbe’s message with the Crisis in the Church.going so far,for example, as to point out how Lumen Gentium makes itnearly impossible for modern Catholics to understand thedoctrine of this friar-knight of Our Lady.12 CDs – STK# 8605 – 49.952013 Conference Audio:That She Might ReignMary, Hope of the ChurchAn informative and inspiring collection of talks on theBlessed Virgin Mary taken from our conference held inKansas City, MO (Oct. 11th-13th, 2013). Cyril Bernard Papali, O.C.D.“The number of books on Mary is immense, significantlyproving a realization of her essential place in the Christiansystem. But for all their number, they leave a gap, and thismasterly work of Fr. Cyril Bernard fits neatly into it. Thegreat bulk of those books do not get down to the doctrinalbedrock on which all devotion stands; they take it forgranted.”It is precisely this doctrinal bedrock on which Fr. CyrilBernard Papali places his profound, yet approachablebook, Mother of God. The author considers Marian doctrinefrom the perspectives of both Scripture and Tradition. This book will help you better defend and explain theChurch’s teaching about the Blessed Virgin Mary and willalso lead to an increase in devotion to our Heavenly Queen.123 pp. – Softcover – STK# 6401 – 15.95Our Lady of Guadalupe andthe Conquest of DarknessWarren H. On one side were the war galleys of the HolyLeague and on the other, those of the Ottoman Turks, rowedby tens of thousands of Christian galley slaves. Although thebattle decided the future of Europe, few Europeans, and evenfewer Americans, know the story. G. K. Chesterton honoredthe battle with what is perhaps the greatest ballad of the20th century. He finished writing this extraordinary poemwhile the postman impatiently waited for the copy. It wasinstantly popular and remained so for years. The ballad is noless inspiring today and is more timely than ever, as the Westfaces the growing threat of Islam.
