ANSI Standards Action - January 15, 2021 - Page 2 of 54 pagesProject Initiation Notification System (PINS)ANSI Procedures require notification of ANSI by ANSI-accredited standards developers (ASD) of the initiation and scope ofactivities expected to result in new or revised American National Standards (ANS). Early notification of activity intended toreaffirm or withdraw an ANS and in some instances a PINS related to a national adoption is optional. The mechanism by whichsuch notification is given is referred to as the PINS process. For additional information, see clause 2.4 of the ANSI EssentialRequirements: Due Process Requirements for American National Standards.Following is a list of proposed actions and new ANS that have been received recently from ASDs. Please also review the section inStandards Action entitled "American National Standards Maintained Under Continuous Maintenance" for additional orcomparable information with regard to standards maintained under the continuous maintenance option. Use the following PublicDocument Library url to access PDF & EXCEL reports of approved & proposed ANS: List of Approved and Proposed ANSDirectly and materially affected interests wishing to receive more information or to submit comments are requested to contactthe standards developer directly within 30 days of the publication of this announcement.ISA (International Society of Automation)67 Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709 www.isa.orgContact: Charles Robinson; crobinson@isa.orgNew National AdoptionBSR/ISA 10628-2 (ISO-10628-2 Mod)-202x, Diagrams for the chemical and petrochemical industry - Part 2: Graphicalsymbols (national adoption with modifications of ISO 10628-2)Stakeholders: Chemical, Petrochemical, and related industries.Project Need: To establish an ISA and ANSI standard on graphical symbols for the chemical and petrochemicalindustry.Scope: Defines graphical symbols for the preparation of diagrams for the chemical and petrochemical industry. Doesnot apply to graphical symbols for electrotechnical diagrams.ISA (International Society of Automation)67 Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709 www.isa.orgContact: Eliana Brazda; ebrazda@isa.orgRevisionBSR/ISA 75.19.01-202x, Hydrostatic Testing of Control Valves (revision of ANSI/ISA 75.19.01-2013)Stakeholders: Manufacturers, users, regulatory bodies.Project Need: To establish the requirements and definitions for standard hydrostatic shell testing of control valves bythe valve manufacturer to prove the structural integrity and leak tightness of the valves' pressure-retaining parts.Scope: This standard applies to control valves having bodies, bonnets, cover plates, and bottom flanges made ofcarbon steel, low-alloy and high-alloy (stainless) steel, nickel-base alloy, cast iron, and ductile iron. This standardestablishes requirements and definitions for standard hydrostatic shell testing of control valves by the valvemanufacturer to prove the structural integrity and leak tightness of the valves' pressure-retaining parts, including anyclosure parts such as the valve body to bonnet joint, but excluding packings, bellows, or other moving seals, andpacking leakoff/purge/vent-port connections. Bellows or similar moving stem seals may be pressure tested afterassembly at a pressure to be agreed upon by the valve manufacturer and the purchaser. The requirements of thisstandard do not cover pneumatic and hydraulic actuators and regulators. This standard describes and specifies thespecific circumstances of hydrostatic shell testing of control valves and is in accordance with the hydrostatic testingrequirements of ASME B16.1, ASME B16.34, and ASME B16.42 with the exception that the test requirements ofparagraph 4.8 are not allowed by ASME B16.34.Project Initiation Notification System (PINS)

Those members of theengineering profession and others associated with the design, manufacturing, and inspection of recreational vehicleshave been aware of the need for uniform technical standards leading to the proper use of this special type ofequipment. They also have recognized that, because of conditions of transport, size, and use, existing standards formotor vehicles or permanent buildings are not completely applicable to recreational vehicles. It is with these factorsin mind that this standard has been developed. Much of the material in this standard has been taken from or is basedon nationally recognized standards for fire and life safety. Applicable standards are shown in Chapter 2.SCTE (Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers)140 Philips Rd, Exton, PA 19341 www.scte.orgContact: Kim Cooney; kcooney@scte.orgRevisionBSR/SCTE 09-202x, Test Method for Cold Bend (revision of ANSI/SCTE 09-2016)Stakeholders: Cable Telecommunications industry.Project Need: Update current technology.Scope: The purpose of this procedure is to provide instructions on testing the cold bend properties of flexible outdoorpolyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyethylene (PE) cable.SCTE (Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers)140 Philips Rd, Exton, PA 19341 www.scte.orgContact: Kim Cooney; kcooney@scte.orgRevisionBSR/SCTE 27-202x, Subtitling Methods for Broadcast Cable (revision of ANSI/SCTE 27-2016)Stakeholders: Cable Telecommunications industry.Project Need: Update current technology.Scope: This document defines a standard for a transmission protocol supporting multilingual subtitling services toaugment video and audio within MPEG-2 multiplexes.Project Initiation Notification System (PINS)
