The car was donated by RamseyAuto Group.The Golf Classic, held at Knoll Country Club inParsippany, featured golf, yoga instructed by MicheleO’Shea of O’Shea Yoga, awards dinner, and special videopresentation. A CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE 2019HONORS CHCC BOARDS OF TRUSTEES AND FIRSTRESPONDERS OF HAWTHORNE, WAYNE, AND WYCKOFFThe boards of trustees of Christian Health Care Center (CHCC)and its Foundation, along with first responders from the Borough ofHawthorne and Townships of Wayne and Wyckoff, were the honoreesof the 2019 A Celebration of Excellence, CHCC’s premier gala held at TheVenetian in Garfield. The event, attended by more than 520 friends,supporters, and first responders, raised more than 279,000. 2019 ANNUAL FUND SUPPORTS CHCC’S MISSIONDonations to Christian Health Care Center’s 2019 Annual Fund supported areas of greatest need,particularly Southgate behavior-management unit. This long-term care residence is one of only four in NewJersey which provides specialized care for individuals exhibiting severe behavioral disturbances associatedwith some forms of dementia, cognitive disorders, and mood disorders. Southgate’s creation 22 years ago wasprompted by the growing volume of vulnerable individuals who were being denied admission to or beingdischarged from other long-term facilities due to their outbursts or because the facilities lacked appropriatecare for their special needs. Since Southgate opened, thousands of families have been impacted by the careof their loved ones.The 2019 Annual Fund will support a major renovation and refurbishment of Southgate so that the unitwill be more suitable for the growing and changing needs of residents. All resident rooms and bathrooms,lounges, activity spaces, dining rooms, corridors, nurses’ station, and main common shower room will beoverhauled and upgraded. The project will encompass new furniture, fixtures, flooring, lighting, windowtreatments, doors, paint, and wall coverings.
