The system is available for outdoor and indooruse.ApplicationsThe HGC 3 generator switchgear has been developed as a system suitable for application in alltypes of power plants.The HGC 3 generator switchgear is also suitablefor retrofitting in existing power plants when theseare modernized, extended and/or automated.A special double-decker execution with associatedbusbar connections has been developed forpumped-storage power plants, thus making theneed for phase reversal disconnectors unnecessaryand saving space in the cavern.The HGC 3 generator switchgear is available inboth indoor and outdoor designs.Modular Design ConceptThe standard execution of the HGC 3 includes: SF6 circuit-breaker and series disconnector earthing switches on one or both sides current transformers on one or both sides withup to three cores per phase one or two voltage transformers on one or bothsides with one or two secondary windings starting switch for (reduced voltage) SFC starting of gas turbines surge arrester on disconnector side protective capacitor on disconnector sideAs required by the plant layout, individual components can be deleted from the standard execution.Characteristics 3-phase system with a SF6 circuit-breaker andseries disconnector in single-phase enclosures,supplied fully assembled on a common frame,with operating mechanisms, supervisory andcontrol equipment. The phase distance can be selected to suit thebusbar in the power plant.
