Hannah’s PrayerLesson 5Bible Story1 Samuel 1; 2:18-19Teacher ChallengeSamuel’s birth was God’s answer to Hannah’syears of intense prayer. God saw that the desireof Hannah’s heart to have a baby had come to apoint of surrender: She promised God to give herson back to Him. Her desire for God’s purposeshad overtaken her desire to have a baby she couldkeep. (And of course, God honored her gift of Samuelby giving her many more children!)God’s Wo“I love therdLord.” PsalmGod’s W116:1I talk to Go ord and MedtHim and t o show my love foro ask for His help. How often are your prayers driven by a desire to fulfill God’s purposes? How can you converse with God more often throughout your day?Prayer may seem difficult to teach, but help your children see that talking to God is like giving Himhugs and kisses and saying “I love You.” These are things most children have experienced. They cancommunicate love to God! Then help them understand that God loves us and is listening to us. Heshows us His love by giving us His very best answers to our prayers!Teacher’s Planning1.
