Mobile two-way radios and telephoneequipment must be installed properly by trained personnel. The following must be observed during installation.FCA US LLC reserves the right to make changes in designand specifications, and/or make additions to or improvements to its products without imposing any obligationupon itself to install them on products previously manufactured.The positive power connection should be made directlyto the battery and fused as close to the battery as possible.The negative power connection should be made to bodysheet metal adjacent to the negative battery connection.This connection should not be fused.Antennas for two-way radios should be mounted on theroof or the rear area of the vehicle. Care should be usedin mounting antennas with magnet bases. Magnets mayaffect the accuracy or operation of the compass onvehicles so equipped.WARNING!Driving after drinking can lead to an accident.Your perceptions are less sharp, your reflexes areslower, and your judgment is impaired when youhave been drinking. GETTING TO KNOW YOUR VEHICLE 17KEYSKey FobYour vehicle uses a keyless ignition system. The ignitionsystem consists of a key fob with Remote Keyless Entry(RKE) and a START/STOP push button ignition system.The Remote Keyless Entry system consists of a key fob andKeyless Enter-N-Go feature if equipped.3NOTE: The key fob may not be found if it is located next toa mobile phone, laptop or other electronic device; thesedevices may block the key fob’s wireless signal.The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) key fob and an emergency key, which stores in the rear of the key fob.The emergency key allows for entry into the vehicle shouldthe battery in the vehicle or the key fob go dead. Theemergency key is also for locking the glove compartment.You can keep the emergency key with you when valetparking.To remove the emergency key, slide the mechanical latchon the back of the key fob sideways with your thumb andthen pull the key out with your other hand.Emergency Key RemovalNOTE: You can insert the double-sided emergency keyinto the lock cylinders with either side up.The Remote Keyless Entry system allows you to lock orunlock the doors, open the liftgate, or activate the PanicAlarm from distances up to approximately 66 ft (20 m)using a hand-held key fob with key fob. The key fob doesnot need to be pointed at the vehicle to activate the system.

18 GETTING TO KNOW YOUR VEHICLENOTE: Driving at speeds 5 MPH (8 km/h) and abovedisables the system from responding to all key fob buttonsfor all key fobs.All doors can be programmed to unlock on the first push ofthe unlock button. Refer to “Uconnect Settings” in “Multimedia” for further information.NOTE: If the vehicle is unlocked by key fob, and no dooris opened within 60 seconds, the vehicle will re-lock and ifequipped, the security alarm will arm. To change thecurrent setting, refer to Uconnect Settings in Multimedia for further information.The turn signal lights will flash to acknowledge the unlocksignal. The illuminated entry system will be activated.1st Push Of Key Fob Unlock ButtonKey FobTo Unlock The Doors And LiftgatePush the interior door unlock button on the door panel.Push and release the unlock button on the key fob once tounlock the driver’s door or twice within five seconds tounlock all doors and the liftgate.This feature lets you program the system to unlock eitherthe driver’s door or all doors on the first push of the unlockbutton on the key fob. To change the current setting, referto “Uconnect Settings” in “Multimedia” for further information.NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with Passive Entry, referto “Keyless Enter-N-Go — Passive Entry” located in“Doors” in “Getting To Know Your Vehicle” for furtherinformation.
