Can cause eye and skin complaints Toxic fluid and fumes Can cause breathing difficulties Highly flammableNo-one should attempt to repair the ride-on mowerwithout having first read and understood the contentsof this handbook.The machine is tested for safety and approved onlyfor equipment supplied or recommended by themanufacturer.The below-mentioned boxes are included in thisworkshop handbook, as is appropriate.WARNING!The warning box indicates a riskof injury to persons if theinstructions are not followed.When using compressed air, do not direct thecompressed air stream towards your, or anybodyelse's, body. Air can be forced into the bloodstream, thereby constituting a danger to life .Use hearing protectors when test driving.After test driving, do not touch the silencer before ithas cooled down. Risk of burn injuries. Thisespecially applies if the ride-on mower is equippedwith a catalytic converter. If consumed, the lining onand in the catalytic converter element is dangerousto health. Use protective gloves when working withthe catalytic converter/silencer.The blades are sharp and can cause cuttinginjuries. Always use protective gloves when you arehandling the blades.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONThis box indicates a risk of damage to thematerial if the instructions are notfollowed.Use protective glasses when working with themowing deck. If the belt's tension spring comes offand flies upwards, this can cause injury to persons.Be extra careful when handling battery acid. Spillingacid on the skin can cause severe burn injuries. Ifacid is spilt on the skin, rinse immediately withwater. If acid gets into the eyes, this can causeblindness. Contact a doctor.Be careful with the maintenance of the battery.Explosive gas is formed in the battery. Neverhandle the battery when smoking or in the vicinity ofnaked flames or sparks. Fit steering wheel, seat and any optional equipment.3. Fit cutting unit.4. Adjust cutting unit:Adjust lift springs (effective weight of cutting unit should be12–15 kg, or set to maximum lift if brush is to be fitted).Adjust cutting unit so that rear edge is about 2–4 mm higher than front edge.Adjust cutting unit height setting so that cutting height limit is 5 mm above the frame of the unit at thelowest cutting height.5. Check that the right amount of oil is in the transmission.6. Check and adjust tyre pressure (60 kPa, 0.6 bar).7. Connect battery.8. Fill with fuel and start engine.9. A functioning aftermarket isin everybody’s interest:On delivery from the factory the Rider is normallypacked in special packaging. This consists of awooden bottom board with a top part consisting ofheavy-duty cardboard held together by plastic film. The customer is satisfied with their Rider. He/sheknows where to go to get help if problems occur.WARNING!Handle the transport boxcarefully. Keep the goods as levelas possible. Use long forks whenlifting from the short side. You have a regular customer, who recommendsyou and your company to other potentialcustomers. In this way we build our trademark together, andtake joint responsibility for our products andcustomers.Make sure the paper work is in good order.Fill in the warranty and delivery documents etc. andmake sure that the customer gets the rightOperating Instructions for their machine.Keep a customer register so that in future you cansee which machines customers have, including allthe serial numbers. This register will benefit youwhen ordering spare parts and for future marketing.In conjunction with the delivery you should alsogive the customer the information required toensure the safe handling and care of their machine.Pay special attention to informing the customerabout:The bottom board is provided with pallet feet andthe goods can be handled with a normal fork-lifttruck from the long side. To keep the goods as levelas possible, two men should help the truck driver.Lift the machine and drive the truck carefully.Undo the plastic film and lift off the cardboardsections. The Rider is placed on the bottom board,braked and secured with wooden blocks.Check that there is no transport damage afterremoving the packaging. Report any damage to thetransport company in accordance with the standardroutines.The packaging should not be returned. Safety instructions. Controls. Emphasise that one does not push inthe reversing lock on Rider 11 when engagingthe neutral position (start lock function). Checking of oil levels. Replenishing of oil, andwhich type of oil is required. First oil change after the running-in period. The need for, and advantages of, following theservice schedule and regularly handing in theirRider for service.Lifting from the short side requires long pallet forks,see diagram. Which fuel should be used. Mowing tips to get good results. Applications forBioClip. Which accessories are available for the type ofRider in question. Warranty regulations. Avoidbreathing in the acid fumes.Measures for contact with acidExternal:Rinse thoroughly with water.Internal:Drink large quantities of water ormilk. Contact a doctor as soon aspossible.Eyes:Rinse thoroughly with water.Contact a doctor as soon asap.The battery gives off explosive gas. Sparks,naked flames and cigarettes must absolutelynot be in the near vicinity of the battery.The battery is delivered dry-charged from thefactory. The cells are fitted with sealing film. Thebattery plugs are packed in a plastic bag. Fill the battery cells slowly with battery acid tothe max. level mark on the battery container. Wait 20 minutes and top up with battery acid ifnecessary. Charge the battery with 12 V max. 6 A for 4hours. Check the electrolyte level and top up ifnecessary with distilled water to the top levelmarks on the battery container.Put the battery in position.Connect the battery with the screws and nuts fittedon the battery. Brace the screws when fitting toavoid exposing the terminals to strain. Black cable is connected to -. Red cable is connected to .Make sure the cables do not rub against thematerial.Fit the cover over the battery and tighten the strap.ArmrestsIn those cases where armrests are delivered withthe machine the dealer is obliged to fit them.(ProFlex 21).Svenska –www.mymowerparts.com11

Screw in the socket head cap screw so that itgoes in the slot on the steering shaft. Work onthe steering wheel and tighten the socket headcap screw so that it bottoms in the slot. Fit the lock nut on the socket head cap screw.Tow plateThe tow plate is fitted the “wrong way round” at thefactory for transport reasons. Fit the tow plate onthe rear bumper as shown in the diagram.Check the oil level in the engineCheck the oil level in the engine when the machineis standing level.Lift up the engine cover.Loosen the dipstick and pull it out. Wipe the dipstickand replace it.The dipstick should not be screwed down.Loosen the dipstick and pull it out again. Check theoil level.The oil level should lie between the markings on thedipstick. If the level is close to the “ADD” mark, topup with oil to the “FULL” mark on the dipstick.The oil is poured in the same hole the dipstick fitsin.Use engine oil with the viscosity shown in thediagram below, grade SC-SH.The engine takes a total of 1.4 litres of oil.ADDADDFULL12 – Svenskawww.mymowerparts.comFULL

Loosen bothscrews (one on each side) and lift off thetransmission cover.Check that there is oil in the transmission’s oil tank.Fill if necessary with engine oil SAE 10W/30 (classSF–CC).IMPORTANT INFORMATIONCheck and top up with oil after each testdrive. The oil level will drop if there are airpockets in the transmission.RIDER 850WheelsFit the wheels (certain markets). The tyre pressuresshould be 60 kPa (0.6 kp/cm 2 ) on all the wheels.To improve the driving capacity the pressure in theback tyres can be reduced to 40 kPa (0.4 kp/cm 2 ).Maximum permitted pressure is 100 kPa (1.0 kp/cm 2 ).In those cases where wheel weights are deliveredwith the machine the dealer is obliged to fit them.(ProFlex 21).IMPORTANT INFORMATIONDifferent pressures in the front tyres willcause the blades to cut the grass atdifferent heights.Checking and adjusting of the mowingdeck’s ground pressure and parallelismCarried out after checking the tyre pressures. The engine should be run on thelowest 87 octane unleaded petrol (no oil admixture).Environmentally adapted alkylate petrol, e.g. ofAspen brand, can be preferably used.WARNING!Petrol is highly inflammable.Observe caution and fill up withpetrol outdoors.WARNING!Never run the engine indoors, orin enclosed or poorly ventilatedareas. Engine exhaust fumescontain poisonous carbon monoxide.Start the engine.Check that the machine is in neutral and standingon level ground when the parking brake is released.Check the function of the parking brake.Check driving forwards (1) and backwards (2).Check that the starter motor does not function whenany of the hydrostatic transmission pedals areactivated.Check that the engine stops when getting up fromthe seat when any of the hydrostatic transmissionpedals are activated.Check that the starter does not function when themowing unit is in its lower position.14 – Svenskawww.mymowerparts.com12

For Husqvarna Parts Call 606-678-9623 or 606-561-4983Design and functionGeneralHusqvarna Riders is a series of ride-on mowerswith a large capacity. There are six sizes, from thesmallest Rider 11 to the largest Rider 20 ProFlex.This manual refers mainly to the smaller machines;the larger ProFlex machines are covered by aseparate manual. All Riders have articulatedsteering in order to easily cut around trees andother obstacles.
