CI flexo pressesDoctor Blade ChamberSmooth and consistent doctoring of the aniloxis essential for constant and reproducibleprinting. We have developed a chamber doctorblade system which is generally suitable for usewithout modification – regardless the printingapplication – and achieves outstanding printingresults. Adjustments are made automaticallyfor accurate and fast job changeovers. Afast clamping system and extra long-lastingdoctor blades make for easy operation and lowmaintenance. An optimized interior geometryof the chamber with a reduced volume resultsin additional ink savings and ensures smoothoperation with hardly any ink spitting.DryTronic – The Drying SystemThe printing industry demands efficient dryingof solvents and water-based inks for bothinter-deck as well as final dryer stages. In orderto meet these demands, Koenig & Bauer hasintroduced an enhanced inter-color dryingOptimized configuration creates homogenousheat transfer and improves drying capacitysystem for an efficient heat transfer to theweb whilst at the same time reducing heatloss. Thanks to an optimized configuration, thedryers generate effective airflow – even at highprinting speeds – to promote homogeneousdrying. Accurate temperature control of thesystem ensures constant drying and low energyconsumption without sacrificing print qualityor damaging the web. An important benefit ofthe novel drying system between colors is itscompact and ergonomic design which improvesQuick and clean blade change with an advanced clamping systemoperator-friendliness for maintenance andcleaning.At the final dryer stage, a newly designeddrying tunnel comes into play for outstandingdrying capacity, which is particularly beneficialwhen using water-based inks and printingon plastic films. The concept is based on abi-level arrangement of the drying elementswhich dramatically reduces the footprint ofthe machine. Besides that, its compact designmade it possible to reduce the total substratetravel length in the machine to such an extentthat a considerable waste reduction can beachieved during start-up.
