Requirement 1Merit Badge Requirements and InformationThe Engineering Merit Badge requirements listed below are theones that are required by the Boy Scouts of America. Some of theoptions offered in the Boy Scout Merit Badge requirements are notoffered through the Harley-Davidson Museum . Before coming tothe Museum to complete the merit badge requirements, you must readthe Engineering Merit Badge book. To be eligible for an EngineeringMerit Badge, you must complete all of the requirements as outlined inthis book.To earn the Engineering Merit Badge you must complete thefollowing requirements:Select a manufactured item in your home (such as a toyor an appliance), and under adult supervision investigatehow and why it works as it does. OR View the enginevideos in the Engine Room which demonstrate how allof the parts of an engine work together. Answer thequestions below.What sort of engineering activities were needed tocreate the ��–––––1. Investigate how and why a manufactured item works.(This requirement may be done at home or at theHarley-Davidson ��–––––––2.
