practical informationBiennial 2011Biennale 2011Biënnale 2011Biennial 2011EditorialEditorialIn 2011 opent de Art Nouveau en Art Deco Biënnale opnieuw de deuren van heel wat prachtige art nouveau- enart-decogebouwen in Brussel Bovendien is het dit jaar precies 150 jaar geleden dat VictorHorta, een van de beroemdste architecten van Brussel, geboren werd en dat moet gevierd worden!Victor Horta was een uitzonderlijk architect en voortrekkervan de art-nouveaubeweging. Hij bedacht een architectuurdie de binnenruimtes helemaal herverdeelt en verzorgdedaarbij ook de kwaliteit van de materialen en de afwerking ervan. Bovendien stelde hij zijn talent ten dienste vanheel verscheiden architecturale programma’s zoals prestigieuze woningen (hotels genoemd), scholen, warenhuizen Tijdens deze Art Nouveau Biënnale kunt u het merendeel van deze gebouwen bezoeken: Hotel Tassel, HotelSolvay, Hotel Max Hallet, Huis Autrique, Hotel Frison, hetHuis en atelier van Victor Horta zelf, Huis Vinck, HotelWinssinger, Hotel Van Eetvelde, de kleuterschool in de SintGisleinstraat en de voormalige Magazijnen Wolfers (KBC).Ze maken deel uit van de 66 art nouveau- of art-deco-interieurs die uitzonderlijk hun deuren openzetten tijdens deweekends van de Biënnale.
