Dear friends,Okay, so June 4 is National DonutDay but if you could have seen the way ourguests went after the selection of HurtsDonuts that were served up at the HartfordCafe (the coffee group that meets at ourhome every Tuesday morning from 6 to 8),you’d realize that every day is donut day!True, Claire and I (because of ourPaleo diet) were not able to indulge, but wesure enjoyed the smiles it brought to our guests. And, believe me, with donuts thishuge, colorful, and delicious, those smiles were wide indeed. Even the box wascool. It reminded me of some of the psychedelic album covers from my misspentyouth back in the 1960s!So, let me suggest that a donut (or two) mightmake a sweet complement to your going throughthis #47 in our series of activity pages. And tofurther inspire you with that idea, here are a fewwords of donut wisdom for you to contemplate.* Donuts – a great excuse toeat cake for breakfast.* As you ramble on through life, whatever be yourgoal keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.* Man doesn’t live by coffee alone -- have a donut! And then there’s this little poem from Oscar Wilde:Between the optimist and the pessimist, the difference is droll. The optimist sees the doughnut;the pessimist the hole. So, be an optimist and have a donut as you peruse these pages. And, even if(like us) that particular pleasure is off limits, grab a bagel or a bowl of oatmeal oran orange, and enjoy this packet anyway!Denny & Claire1
