KENTUCKY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONSDIVISION OF MENTAL HEALTHSEX OFFENDER TREATMENT PROGRAM (SOTP)COMMUNITY COMPONENTJEFFERSON COUNTYThe Sex Offender Treatment Program is housed in the Southwest Office Of Probation and Parole. Clients are referredinto this program by 1) court order; 2) Parole Board Order; 3) request for evaluation is made by a Probation and ParoleOfficer. The Officer needs to complete a Sex Offender Treatment Program Community Services Referral Form (seenext page) and submit it along with a copy of the PSI and any pertinent information.The Sex Offender Treatment Program, community component, is a three-phased program designed to assist sexualoffenders in acquiring skills to prevent relapse. The length of time necessary to complete treatment is solely determinedby the efforts of the client in completing Therapy Tasks. Its mission is to provideassessment, referral and case management services to clients being seen by Probation and ParoleOfficers in Jefferson County. Social Service Clinicians are located in each office to provideservices. Clients need to be referred if 1) they are court ordered for a substance abuse evaluationand/or treatment; 2) they are Parole Board Ordered for services, and 3) they admit use or have apositive drug test. Clients being seen after being paroled who are graduates of an institutional SAPprogram need to be seen immediately by a Social Service Clinician.
