9ADDRESS OF THE GRAND MASTER2017-2018Most Worshipful Sirs; Right Worshipful Sirs; Worshipful Sirs; Brethren;Friends and Visitors:One year ago I was elected to the highest office in our Fraternity. It hasbeen Fifty-seven years since I became a Master Mason. Since boyhood, Iwanted to be a part of the Masonic Lodge my dad belonged to and loved sodearly. Since I’ve joined, I loved this Fraternity and still do. The Fraternityis still a wonderful organization, however the membership has not kept up.The attitude seems to be “If I cannot get my way, I will see how tough I canmake it for everyone else”. How sad. We are having “Unity Meetings” thatare anything but Unity. We have an unusual number of cases for the Appeals and Grievance Committee. There is so much unrest. Now, is everything bad? No, indeed not. We are having meetings all overthe state where Peace prevails. Brotherly love, truth and relief are beingpracticed. I have recently attended a Dyslexia Graduation for seven students with over a hundred people in attendance. There have been Centennial Plaques presented. Twenty-five, Fifty, Sixty and Seventy Year ServiceAwards given to the membership. We have celebrated Widow’s Nights,Past Master Nights and many other special events with good attendanceand wonderful fellowship. Let us all work toward having that kind of spiritagain.Guy A. JenkinsGrand Master 2017-2018
