Radford University students get a subscription to Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus at no cost for Windows PCs, Maccomputers, as well as for iPad. You may also download the Office Mobile app for free from the App Store or Google PlayStore for your iPhone/iPad and Android phone.In addition, you may install Office 2013 (for PC) and Office 2011 (for Mac) on up to 5 computers - and it’s easy to installfrom your email.radford.edu email account. Through your Microsoft Office 365 account, you get 25 GB of secure storage space in thecloud. OneDrive @ Radford University can be accessed via PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Androidphone devices.How many computers/devices can I run this subscription on?Each subscription license allows you to run Office on up to five devices (PCs, Macs, and iPads). You can also run theOffice Mobile app for iPhone/iPad and Android phone on additional mobile devices.Are these full versions of Office and available for offline use?Yes, these are full versions of Office for the PC, Mac, and iPad, and all are available for offline use. 3. Then choose the EMAILlink4. After you have logged intoyour Radford Universityemail account, click onthe small gear in the rightcorner of the screen. Thegear should be just to theright of your name.5. Then click on Office 365settings6. You will then see a screensimilar to this. Click onthe software link.

7. After clicking on thesoftware link, your screenshould like the one shownhere. Now click on theinstall button.8. After your software hasdownloaded, open the fileto begin your installation.9. Click Run and your Office2013 software will begininstalling on yourWindows PC.

10. After Office 2013 finishesinstalling you will see themessage here.You’re good to go!For Mac:1. Go to the RadfordUniversity home pageand click on the MyRUlink on the right side ofthe screenhttp://www.radford.edu/2. Login using your RUusername andpassword

3. Then choose theEMAIL link4. After you have logged intoyour Radford Universityemail account, click onthe small gear in the rightcorner of the screen. Thegear should be just to theright of your name.5. Then click on Office 365settings6. You will then see ascreen similar to this.Click on the softwarelink.

7. After clicking on thesoftware link, yourscreen should like theone shown here. Nowclick on the installbutton.8. After your softwarehas downloaded, clickon Downloads andopen the file to beginyour installation.9. Click Continue andyour Office 2011software will begininstalling on your Maccomputer.

10. After Office 2011finishes installing youwill see the messagehere.You’re good to go!11. You may be promptedto install the Office2011 update. Goahead and install thatupdate.For iPad:

1. Go to the App Store on youriPad and search for“Microsoft”. You should seeExcel, Word, and PowerPointavailable for download. Youwill need to download eachapplication separately. Youwill also need to already haveor create an iTunes account.You will need to repeat theprocess below for eachapplication. The App Store willprompt you for your RadfordUniversity username andpassword for the firstapplication you install. It mayor may not require you tologin again to install the otherOffice applications dependingon the time betweendownloads.2. Tap to install one of theavailable Office applications.You will then be promptedwith a screen similar to this.Tap Sign In to sign in usingyour Radford Universityusername name andpassword.DO NOT CREATE ANACCOUNT. Radford Universityhas already created anaccount for you using your RUusername and password.

3. Sign in using your RadfordUniversity email address. YourRU email address is yourRadford Universityusername@email.radford.eduFor example,jsmith@email.radford.eduThen tap Next.4. You will then see a screensimilar to this. Tap on theOrganizational accountoption.This step is very important!Even if you already have aMicrosoft account (Xbox LIVE,OneDrive, etc.) you must signin with your RadfordUniversity email address andpassword under theOrganizational account inorder to be eligible for the freeOffice for iPad apps.

5. You will then need to sign inwith your Radford Universityemail address and password.For example,jsmith@email.radford.edu**********If you have signed in correctly,you should see a messageindicating the app is activating.6. After your app has successfullyinstalled, you’ll be promptedto download similar Officeapps or you can start usingyour new app.You’re ready to start usingOffice on your iPad!Installing the Office Mobile app on iPhone/iPad and Android phone (currently not available on an Android tablet):1. Open the App Store on youriPhone/iPad or

Google Play Store on yourAndroid phone2. Search for “microsoft officemobile”.3. Install the app as you wouldany other app for your iPhone,iPad, or Android phone.4. You will need to Accept theApp permissions when askedin order to install theapplication.Note: This is a fairly largeapplication and may takelonger to install that apps youhave installed in the past.5. Once the Office Mobile apphas installed on your device.Tap to open the application.You will be asked to accept theMicrosoft Use TermsAgreement. Once you haveread the terms, tap Accept.

6. After you have accepted theUse Terms a welcome screenwill appear.Scroll through until you get tothe screen shown here.Then tap Get started.7. Sign in using your RadfordUniversity email address. YourRU email address is yourRadford Universityusername@email.radford.eduFor example,jsmith@email.radford.eduThe Office Mobile app will notonly allow you access to view,edit, and create Officedocuments – it will beconnected to your RadfordUniversity OneDrive account.Then tap Next.

8. You will then see a screensimilar to this. 10. You’re all set!Your screen should now looksimilar to of the images heredepending on your device. Itwill display your documents onOneDrive @ RadfordUniversity.You will be able to view, edit,and create Office documents(Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)on your OneDrive @ RadfordUniversity.Accessing OneDrive @ Radford UniversityVia Web Browser1. Go to the RadfordUniversity home pageand click on the MyRUlink on the right side ofthe screenhttp://www.radford.edu/

2. Login using your RUusername andpassword3. Then choose theEMAIL link4. After you have logged intoyour Radford Universityemail account, click onthe OneDrive link in theblue bar at the top ofyour screen.5. You will then see a screensimilar to this.

6. From here you can create newOffice documents saved onOneDrive @ RadfordUniversity. These documentswill be created using the WebApp versions of Office. Youwill have most but not all thefunctionality of the fulldesktop versions of Word,Excel, PowerPoint, andOneNote. Your device doesnot need to have Officeinstalled in order to createdocuments in these Web Appversions. Great for phonesand tablets that do not haveOffice installed.7. You can also uploaddocuments from your PC,Mac, mobile device, or anyother storage device directlyinto OneDrive @ RadfordUniversity. All documents areprivate by default but you canthen share your documentswith the people you choose inthe Radford Universitycommunity (i.e. otherstudents, faculty, and staff).8. If you are using a PC, you alsohave the ability to sync yourfiles to your computer.Syncing creates a copy onyour PC’s hard drive to accesswhen you’re offline or justwant easier access to yourdocuments. If you change andsave the synced copy,OneDrive will automaticallychange your copy saved in thecloud and vice versa. Syncingis currently unavailable forMac but should be up andrunning soon.
