Mark Scott Our mission at St. Francis of Assisi is to love, grow and serve. 03-31-2012St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal ChurchLocation: 735 Old Lexington HighwayMailing Address: PO Box 265Chapin, SC 29036In many respects, September provides congregations a chance to push a "reset" buttonon their ministries during the year. After our activity this past summer, it hardly seemsnecessary to reset our ministry. However, we will be beginning anew in several areasof our church. This fall, we will begin a handbell ministry in our music program. Please watch forannouncements relating to this ministry and how we will be moving forward with it.Later in the fall, we expect to begin a Spanish language worship service. Please watchfor announcements relating to this ministry.Education for ministry an intensive learning experience relating to the theology of thechurch will begin during September. Our stewardship emphasis will be working this fall to plan our ministry offerings forthe coming year. We look forward to the implementation of this work.On the last Sunday of August, we welcomed our new deacon, Ann Pilat, and our newyouth director, Sonya Turner. We are looking forward to some great opportunities forministry as we work with both of these people. And, relating to our future building and ministry issues, the Vestry has formed aBuilding Steering committee as a follow up to our informational time last summerrelating to potential building improvements and changes. What is remarkable about all of this activity is that the Holy Spirit is working in somany areas of our church's life. This list of actions is really incomplete, but the pointis that we are working together to build a ministry here for the future as we move forward in the name of Jesus Christ.Thank you for being so warm and welcoming as a congregation and for the ongoingefforts to foster the work of the Holy Spirit together!Peace in Christ,Fr. Scott
