The title for this series is Eucharist: Our Sourceof Hope in Jesus. In week 1, Father Peter spoke about how Jesus Wants usNourished! (The Living Bread)The Eucharist gives us hopes because we have a God whowants to nourish us like a loving parent. Our God does notwant us starving! In week 2, I spoke about Love Gets Real (the Real Presence)The Eucharist gives us hope because we have a God who is so humble, He wants to get real with us, tobe present to us. We are called to be present to Jesus. We are called to join the assembled Church atMass to receive Jesus. This weekend, Father Peter is speaking about how Love Changes Us (Transubstantiation and Mary)The Eucharist gives us hope because we have a God who wants us to become the best version ofourselves! On week 4, August 22 I will address how Love wants us to be Love for the World (Service)Our Eucharist is at the heart of who we are as Christians and Catholics. We are called to “Take and Eat”to become the Body of Christ. We are called to be present in the Eucharistic community so that we arenourished and strengthened by our shared faith. We are called to open ourselves to God to be “consumed”by this Love. Finally, we are called to take ourselves out into the world to serve others. We join the greatMystical Body of Christ, all the angels and saints, our relatives who have gone before us and who live inour midst today, to serve. Jesus is here. Jesus is waiting.
