rotecMEASUREMENT BOARDSMEASUREMENT CHAINENGINEERING SOLUTIONSDATA ANALYSISROTEC RAS measurement boards covera broad range of multichannel testingapplications.The trigger board provides the central timebase for all measurement channels. Thisboard enables comprehensive triggering ofmeasurements and also contains analogueand digital outputs for test-cell integration.The dual channel rotational speed boardoperates with a 10GHz digital counter andallows for direct input of TTL pulse trainsignals. Triggering on both rising and / orfalling edge is possible, as well as detectionof pulse width modulation.The 3-channel analogue board has 24-bitresolution with 50kHz sampling rate perchannel. As an alternative VISPIRON ROTECoffers a dual-channel analogue board withsampling rates up to 3.2MHz.The eight channel temperature board issuitable for input of signals provided byPt100 RTDs as well as various types ofthermocouples. Break-out boxes are availablefor connection to the temperature sensors.A board for acquisition and decoding of digitalbus data such as CAN, OBD-II and FlexRaymay also be fitted.A strain gauge board will complete the system.SIGNAL ACQUISITIONSENSOR SYSTEMSSuccessful testing requires a careful choiceof measurement equipment in order toensure full functionality throughout theentire test session. VISPIRON covers the fullmeasurement chain, starting from sensorsystems for measuring rotational speed,via data acquisition hardware to a versatilesoftware package for both measurement andanalysis.DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEMSVISPIRON ROTEC’s main product is theRotation Analysis System (RAS). ROTECRAS signal acquisition and analysis systemscombine the advantages of PC-basedfrontend data acquisition with additional datalogging capabilities. The three most common methods are:1) scanning a toothed wheel with a magneticproximity sensor to generate a pulse each timea tooth passes the sensor2) reflecting a laser light source off lined tapeattached to the shaft3) mounting a magnetic or optical incrementalencoder onto the shaftROTEC - 7 -SOFTWAREVISPIRON ROTEC offers robust and reliablesensor systems for each of these three methods.The sensor electronics output angular velocitysignals in the form of TTL pulse trains. Decidingto use a particular sensor depends on theapplication, physical constraints in applyingthe sensor as well as the required accuracy andresolution.ROTEC RAS software provides the user withan easy-to-use, flexible and powerful tool fordata acquisition, analysis and reporting. Datamay be analysed and displayed online as afunction of time, angle or rotational speedbefore being saved to hard disk for furtherdetailed analysis. FFT methods are used whenconverting from the time to the frequencyand order domains.The common time base of all measurementchannels ensures reliable cross-channelevaluation of signals.
