The San Diego Community College District is chargedwith educating all adults 18 years of age and older inthe City of San Diego. The District provides educationat several levels, from adult basic education throughsophomore level college degree programs. TheDistrict has three fully accredited colleges City, Mesa,and Miramar, and Continuing Education.The District is governed by a Board of Trusteesconsisting of five voting members elected by thepeople of San Diego and a student trustee elected byDistrict college students. HistoryGeneral InformationSan Diego Continuing Education has been makinghistory for 96 years. We were the first—and remain theonly—community college continuing educationinstitution in California to meet the standards forindependent accreditation from the WesternAssociation of Schools and Colleges. We were one ofthe first in California to establish a joint high schooldiploma partnership with the local school district. SanDiego Continuing Education was also among the firstcontinuing education programs in California to serve100,000 students per academic year.10San Diego Continuing Education is providing newopportunities to change lives.
