IPL is one of the most effectivemethods to remove unwanted body hair. It produces longlasting results because it reduces hair regrowth significantly.

ENGLISH9No replacement parts needed, no hidden costsPhilips Lumea Comfort is equipped with a high-performancelamp which does not require replacement. This lampcan generate over 100,000 flashes. This enables you tocontinuously maintain results for more than 5 years*, whilesaving money on expensive replacement lamps.*Based on average usage scenario and recommendedtreatment regime for one user.Working principle-- The appliance works by heating up the hair and rootbeneath the skin. The melanin in the hair and hair rootabsorbs the released light pulses. The darker the colourof the hair, the more light can be absorbed. This processstimulates the hair to go into the resting phase.-- In between treatments, hair sheds naturally and regrowthis inhibited. Hairs can take one or two weeks to shed.-- Optimal hair removal cannot be obtained with asingle session, since only hairs in the growing phase aresusceptible to treatment with light. During a treatment, hairs on the treated area are usually in different stagesof the hair growth cycle. To effectively treat all hairs youhave to repeat the treatment once every two weeks forthe first two months.

Make sure that the flashes areemitted close to each other.

ENGLISH 21How to achieve optimal resultsFirst two months-- It is normal that hairs are still visible after the first fewtreatments (see chapter ‘Introduction’, section ‘Workingprinciple’ for more information).-- To remove all hairs successfully and prevent the hairfollicle from becoming active again, the treatments haveto be repeated once every two weeks for the first twomonths. Your skin should be smooth by then. Pleaseread section ‘Maintenance phase’ to find out how youcan keep these results.Maintenance phase-- To ensure that your skin stays smooth, we advise youto repeat the treatment every 4 to 8 weeks. The timebetween treatments may vary based on your individualhair regrowth and also across different body areas. Iftoo many hairs grow back between treatments, simplyshorten the treatment interval again, but do not treatany area more often than once every two weeks. When you use the appliance more frequently thanrecommended, you do not increase the effectiveness butyou do increase the risk of skin reactions. After use-- Press and hold the on/off/intensity button to switch offthe appliance.
