Admission andadvanced standingOntario college graduates ortransfer studentsStudents who have completed a minimum ofone year of full-time study in a diploma programat an Ontario CAAT are eligible to apply foradmission to an undergraduate program atCarleton based on their academic merit at thecollege level. Admission requirements varyby program and students must satisfy thepublished prerequisite and grade point averageto be considered for the program of theirchoice. Transfer of credit will be assessed uponadmission and credit received is at the discretionof the appropriate academic department. Insome cases, it may be necessary to submitofficial course descriptions. If you are an Ontariocollege student with questions about the transferof your credits, you may find answers in ourtransfer credit guide. This guide features a list ofprograms from Ontario colleges which have beenassessed for advanced ges.Canadian college and universitygraduates or transfer studentsupon admission; however, in some instancesthis may require submission of officialcourse descriptions. Carleton will do its bestto transfer the most credit possible for anypreviously completed courses; however, coursetransferability will vary depending on gradepoint average, level of course, and relatedness ofprevious course work to the degree program towhich you have applied.Admission requirements vary by program andcertain programs have additional GPA andprerequisite requirements for admission toupper year. FAQ and importantinformationHow can I find more informationabout transferring my credits?Transfer credit, also known as advancedstanding, refers to the number of credit or courseequivalents you may be awarded towards yourdegree at Carleton based on previous accreditedpostsecondary studies. Once students haveapplied to Carleton, their previous studies willbe assessed for transfer credit on a case-by-casebasis, subject to degree, grade and programrequirements.6Carleton automatically assesses transfer creditfor all applicants who have studied at accreditedCanadian postsecondary institutions beforeapplying to Carleton. Will co-op opportunities beavailable to me?In order to be considered for admission intoco-op, there are certain requirements that youmust meet.
