MASTERMarch 2019 – March 2020www.RomeBusinessSchool.itFoodand BeverageManagementBetter Managers For a Better World

OVERVIEWThe Food and Beverage industry is experiencing a strong internationalexpansion and has moved beyond the confines of being a domesticcraft, to occupy a dominant position in the tourist industry. This significant growth in interest andopportunities has sparked the need to traina specialist management capable not only ofrecognising the production and quality assuranceprocesses peculiar to Food and Beverage, butalso, and most of all, of operating in an evermore global market through the developmentof specific managerial and communicationcompetencies. The Rome Business School’sMaster Course in Food and BeverageManagement offers general managerial trainingcombined with production chain-specificcompetencies, to produce specialist professionalscapable of dealing with the challenges of thefood and beverage industry in an internationaland multicultural context. Italian food andbeverage industry is growing in both the homeand international markets. Italian products area byword for a level of quality that is recognisedand appreciated all over the world in terms ofboth raw materials and geographical provenance. The role played by Italian-made products is2also increasingly dominant in the hospitalityindustry, which is an important aspect of thenew Italian identity. A strong contributionto this “movement” had been given by hotelchains, which, with their sensitivity and marketknowledge, have started featuring, in theirinternational in-house restaurants, Italianproducts and chefs—both household names andup-and-coming ones— who inject their personalcommitment, culture, and experimentationin their offerings. This has enabled hotelrestaurants—which, for a long time, wereconsidered to provide a second tier food andbeverage offering—to take centre stage onceagain. This resurgence has today been digested, and hotel cuisine is being given very highconsideration. Thanks to corporate investments, more and more venues are backing restauration, not only to meet (predominantly foreign) guestdemands, but also to attract an external clienteleand to distinguish themselves in terms of bothquality and management.KEY FACTSAccredited Master’sDegree - 60 ECTSAttendance formula:part-timeDuration:12 monthsTuition fee 6.500Language:EnglishInternationalclassesOn campusor onlineScholarships: up to30% of the tuition fee3
