STUDENT QUICK START GUIDE:ACTIVATING YOUR ACCESS TO RESOURCESHow Students Will Register for Your CourseFollow these 3 simple steps to activate your access to the Oxfordmaterials in your LMS.Step 1: Navigate First, log in to your institution’s learning management system (LMS) andaccess your course.Step 2: Activate Access The Oxford University Press resources will look a lot like the otherresources in your course; however, the first time you encounter one that’sprotected you’ll be asked to Activate your Access by entering aredemption code, purchasing access, or starting a free trial.2

STUDENT QUICK START GUIDE:ACTIVATING YOUR ACCESS TO RESOURCES If you select “Redeeman access code”, you’llbe prompted to enter theaccess code youreceived with thepurchase of your bookor through yourbookstore and then hit“Redeem”. You’ll thenhave access for theduration of time denotedwith the code. If you select“Purchase accesswith a Credit Card”,you’ll be prompted tocheckout withPayPal. You willnotice that much ofthe information hasbeen populated.Finished enteringyour information,click “Continue,” andfollow the prompts toprocess yourpurchase. Note that no PayPal account is required for this process. You maychoose to use one or checkout as a guest.3

After the completion of the trial period, you willbe prompted to redeem an access code or purchase access inorder to continue accessing protected content. OUP will automatically count down the days of your free trial All of your work during the trial period will be saved!Step 3: Use Return to your course in your institution’s LMS; then, try opening thesame resource that had been locked before. STUDENT QUICK START GUIDE:GETTING ACQUAINTED WITH YOUR RESOURCESWorking Through A Study Guide Chapter Each chapter of the Study Guide consists of four parts, and each part hasmultiple exercises. As you progress through the Study Guide, you’ll be earning stars toward atarget score. Each Study Guide chapter has its own target score, andachieving the target score for a given chapter earns you a score of 100%. After reading a chapter, work through Parts 1-3 of the Study Guide tocement your knowledge, check your understanding, and apply concepts. Then come back to practice in Part 4, Personal Practice, where you’llstart with the areas that are the most challenging for you. You can practice aslong as you need to in order to reach your target score. If you wait 12 hours between completing Part 3 and starting Part 4, youwill earn 50 extra bonus stars. Spacing out your Study Guide sessions willhelp with long-term retention of the material. Feel free to leave and come back as many times as needed. Your progress issaved when you click the Save and continue button at the end of everyexercise. When you return, you will find yourself at the beginning of the nextexercise.7

STUDENT QUICK START GUIDE:GETTING ACQUAINTED WITH YOUR RESOURCESSubmitting your work in the Study GuideYour instructor can view student progressthrough the guide and may assign modules aspart of your required course work. There arethree ways to submit your Study Guide work.1.2.3.Target score submission: Once you haveachieved the target number of stars for aStudy Guide, it will automatically besubmitted to the Oxford Insight gradebookwith a score of 100%.Due date submission: If your instructorhas set a due date for the chapter, and youhave not yet achieved the target score,your current score for that chapter isautomatically submitted at 11:59 PM on thespecified due date.Voluntary submission: Any time aftercompleting Parts 1-3, you may opt tosubmit your current score and finish thechapter before achieving the target scorevia the submit button.After submission, subsequent visits to the StudyGuide are in review mode. Review mode allowsyou to view the correct answers for allquestions. Once in review mode, questionscannot be tried again and your score cannot bere-submitted.8
