The Government of Maharashtra has established "ADMISSIONS REGULATING AUTHORITYAND STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL" as per the provisions of the MaharashtraUnaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions & Fees) Act.2015 (Mah. Act No. XXVIII of 2015), (herein after the Act).1.2. The Commissioner of State CET Cell, has been designated as Competent Authority forconducting MHT-CET2018 and selection of candidates for admission to First Year of 4 YearDuration Full Time Under Graduate Degree courses in Engineering and Technology,Pharmacy and First Year of six Year Duration Full Time Under Graduate Degree course inPharm D for the academic year 2018-2019.1.3. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Maharashtra Unaided PrivateProfessional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015 (Mah.XXVIII of 2015), the Government of Maharashtra has notified the rules to regulate theadmissions to the First and Direct Second Year of Full Time Professional UndergraduateTechnical Courses (Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, Pharm D., Architecture, HotelManagement and Catering Technology). These rules are called the Maharashtra UnaidedPrivate Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions to the Full TimeProfessional Undergraduate Technical Courses) Rules, 2017. The admissions shall be carriedout as per these Rules and its amendment from time to time. These rules are also applicablefor admissions in Government and Government Aided professional educational institutionsincluding ICT, Mumbai as per Government Resolution TEM-2016/C.R.473/16/ TE-4 dated25th April 2017.1.4. Director, Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai shall act as Nodal Officer for theMHT-CET 2018.2.DEFINITIONS. (a) “Act” means the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions(Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015 (Mah. Act XXVIII of 2015);(b) “All India Seats” means seats available to an eligible Indian National Candidate;(c) “Application Form” means prescribed form filled up online by the Candidate for admission;(d) “Autonomous Institution” means the institution to which autonomy is granted by theUniversity Grants Commission;(e) “CAP Seats” means the seats filled in through the centralized process of admission carriedout by the Competent Authority;(f) “Competent Authority” means the Commissioner of State CET appointed by the Governmentunder section 10, for conducting CET through CAP for the admissions into Private ProfessionalEducational Institutions;(g) “Courses” means the undergraduate technical courses in Engineering and Technology,Pharmacy, Architecture and Hotel Management and Catering Technology;(h) “Eligible Candidates” means the candidates who are eligible for different professional coursesas notified by the Government, from time to time under sub-section (1) of section 3 of theAct;(i) “HSC” means the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Standard XII) examination conductedby Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalentcertificate awarded by a recognised Boards;(j) “Institutional Quota” means seats available for admission to eligible Candidates at Institutionlevel as declared by the Government or appropriate authority from time to time;(k) “Inter-Se-Merit” means the order of merit in respect of various classes/category of5

MHT CET 2018 Information Brochure- Technical Education JEE Main” means the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the Central Board ofSecondary Education, New Delhi for the concerned academic year;“Minority Quota” means seats earmarked for the Minority Community students from withinthe State, belonging to the Minority Community to which the institution belongs;“Non-Autonomous Institution” means those institutions which are not ‘AutonomousInstitutions’;“Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)” means a candidate/person registered as an OverseasCitizenship of India as declared by the Central Government under section 7A of the CitizenshipAct 1955 and includes Persons of Indian Origin (PIO).Explanation: For the purposes of this clause, all the existing Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)cardholders registered under notification of the Government of India, Ministry of HomeAffairs No. F. No. 26011/04/98- F. I dated 19th August 2002 and shall now be deemed to beOverseas Citizens of India (OCI) card holders by virtue of Notification of Government of India,Ministry of Home Affairs, No. 25024/9/2014-F.I. Dated 9th January, 2015;“OHU” means the area Outside Home University area;“Qualifying Examination” means examinations on the basis of which a candidate becomeseligible for admission or its equivalent examination;“SSC” means the Secondary School Certificate (Standard X) examination conducted byMaharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalentcertificate awarded by a recognised Boards;“Supernumerary Seats” means seats which are over and above the Sanctioned Intakeapproved by the appropriate authority and the Government, from time to time;"TFWS" means Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme.SCHEME OF EXAMINATION3.1.Date of Examination: The examination will be conducted at various centers in Maharashtraon Thursday, 10th May 2018.3.2. Syllabus, Weightage and Pattern of Examination: Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematicsand Biology for the MHT- CET 2018, is declared by Director, Technical Education, Mumbaivide Letter No. 2A/ADM/2017/1157 dated 04.10.2017 and is as follows:3.2.1 The questions will be based on Syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary andHigher Secondary Education.3.2.2 Approximately 20% weightage will be given to Std. XI curriculum and 80% weightagewill be given to Std. XII curriculum while setting the question paper.3.2.3 There will be no Negative Marking, however difficulty level will be at par with the JEE(Main) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for Biology will be atpar with NEET. The questions will be mainly application based.3.2.4 MHT-CET will consist of 3 question papers of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) andeach paper will be of 100 marks. Candidates will be provided with separate OMR answer sheets with each question paper.At the end of each paper, candidate will hand over the OMR Answer sheet to theinvigilator. Candidates are permitted to take the Question Booklet outside the exam hallonly after the completion of test.The candidate will be required to mark the correct answer by blackening the correspondingcircle against the serial number of the question in the answer sheet with black ink ballpointpen only. Out of four circles provided for selection of an answer against a question, thecandidate should fill up one circle only. Each correct answer will be given mark/(s). Thereshall be no negative marking for wrong answers.CHANGING AN ANSWER IS NOT ALLOWED: The candidates must fully satisfy themselvesabout the accuracy of the answer before darkening the appropriate circle, as no change inthe Answer once marked is allowed. The answer once marked is final, any change in theoption once marked, done by any method, will amount to a invalid/incorrect response.Candidate should completely darken one and the only one best response (circle)e. g.ABCDCandidate should not use any other method for answering i.e. Half circle, dot. tick mark,cross etc. This may not be read by the scanner. If there is any grievance during this period (regarding loss of time due toadministrative error or any other examination related important matter), the candidate willreport it to the invigilator of his/her examination block. It will be communicated to the SubCenter In-charge through supervisor. The committee will examine the Grievance on the spotand take necessary decision regarding the Grievance/s.3.6.If a candidate has objection against any question in the question paper of this examination,the same may be submitted through candidate Login as per the schedule in the Informationbrochure. Representation received by any other mode shall not be considered.3.7. Language of Question Paper: The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi orUrdu for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, Mathematics paper shall be in Englishonly. The option once exercised about the medium by the candidate shall be irrevocable.3.8. Examination Centre: The MHT-CET 2018 will be conducted at all the district headquarters inthe State of Maharashtra. The MHT-CET examination center will be within the same districtfrom where the candidate has passed / is appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC /12th Standard examination. The eligible candidates passing qualifying examination fromoutside the state of Maharashtra can select the examination center of their choice whilefilling the online application form. The center once allotted shall not be changed under anycircumstances.ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR ENGINEERING / TECHNOLOGY, PHARMACY,PHARM D. COURSESAll the candidates passed / appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standardexamination or its equivalent examination and having Indian Nationality are eligible for appearingfor MHT-CET 2018. There is no age limit for admission and appearing to MHT-CET 2018.(A) Candidature Type.(1) Maharashtra State Candidature. - A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra StateCandidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.(i) Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor ofScience Examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State;A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Motheris domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.Type-DType-CType-AEligibility CriterionType-BTypeType-E4.(ii) Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra;A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Motheris an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking andwho has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last datefor submission of Application Form for CAP.A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C butwhose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government ofMaharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognised institution locatedin a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area or from Maharashtra, residing inthe disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose Mother tongue isMarathi.8

MHT CET 2018 Information Brochure- Technical Education Courses(2) All India Candidature. -The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category.(3) Minority Candidature - The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious MinorityCommunity from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible underthis Category.(4) Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature. a) The children of citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of Indiaor from unsafe border area of Jammu and Kashmir to a relatively safer place in Jammuand Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities; orb) The children of officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS) or Indian PoliceServices (IPS) or Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and children of staff belonging to militaryand paramilitary forces transferred to Jammu and Kashmir to combat terrorist activitiesand joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application foradmission; orc) The children of staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police engaged in combatingterrorism are eligible under this category;Note: However as preference is given to the J & K Migrant candidates appeared for JEE(Main)2018 over MHT-CET 2018 are advised to appear for JEE(Main) 2018.(5) Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, ForeignNational – These types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHTCET 2018.Note:- (a) It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET 2018 for candidates belonging to MaharashtraState Candidature, Minority Candidature seeking admission to B.E./B. Tech.However All India Candidature & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature candidatesmay or may not appear for MHT-CET 2018 as Score of JEE(Main) Paper I shall be preferredover MHT-CET 2018 for admission to B.E./B. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by UGC. andobtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward classcategories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to MaharashtraState only) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject;(2) All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant CandidatureCandidates. Candidate isadvised to download and print the brochure. For submission of online application form thecandidates should login at http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mhtcet2018 website. The detailedprocedure for online submission of application form & registration is as follows.5.1. Procedure for MHT-CET 2018 Registration and payment through Debit/Credit Card/NetBanking/e-walletA candidate has to first register for MHT -CET 2018 athttp://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mhtcet2018 and only then he / she can make the paymentonline.5.1.1. MHT-CET 2018 Registration: In order to register online, the candidate has to visit thewebsite http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mhtcet2018 and click ”Apply Online”; TheMHT-CET 2018 Registration page opens up wherein he/she has to fill-in the onlineform. The information to be provided includes personal details and uploading of yourrecent color passport photograph and signature.11

Filling of Online Application form: The candidate will be prompted to enter validpersonal email id, personal mobile No. and a password along with other requiredinformation while filling the online form.
