IntroductionUPM’s aim is to be a trustworthy business partner,and it believes that responsible and ethical practicescreate long-term value for both UPM and its stakeholders.UPM has stated its commitment to integrity in its Codeof Conduct. Our leading principle is that we do notcompromise our standards of integrity under anycircumstances, and we expect the same from oursuppliers and third-party intermediaries.All UPM suppliers and third-party intermediaries(e.g. agents, advisers, joint venture partners, localpartners, or distributors acting on behalf of UPM) needto comply with the standards set in this UPM Supplierand Third-Party Code or demonstrate their compliancewith similar standards defined in their own code ofconduct or company policies.UPM’s Supplier and Third-Party Code defines theminimum level of performance that UPM requires fromall its suppliers and third parties. Protect UPM’s confidential information against unauthoriseduse or disclosure. Process personal data in accordance with applicable laws. Use appropriate IT tools andimplement IT information securitypolicies to protect data againstcyber risks. Safeguard UPM’s intellectualproperty in the form of e.g.inventions, patents, trademarks,and domain names bymaintaining adequate legalprotection or confidentiality. Ensure that your employeesand business partners knowand are committed to yourrequirements on confidentialityand cyber security by means oftraining and communication.
