PASTOR’S CORNER“Sunset quiet as a benedictionOne true love, the rest is fiction It must be Palm Sunday again”**Robert Hunter – “Palm Sunday”Once again, we enter into the Holiest week on our Churchcalendar as we celebrate Palm Sunday this weekend – OurLord’s triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. For all the hooplaassociated with Christ’s entrance – cheering, hollering, ridingon an ass with the people strewing his path with palms – wemay overlook our second reading today from Phillipians. It is avery ancient hymn about Christ, it even has its own name – ittells us of the “kenosis” of Christ. That is a Greek word thatmeans the “emptying out” of Christ. That is what we will seeand hear this week – Jesus emptying himself out for us – givinghimself completely for us. May we acknowledge that great giftby asking the Lord to make us more and more aware of theopportunities each of us have to give of ourselves in imitationof Jesus Christ. I WISH YOU ALL AFr. Robert LupoA Teaching Moment: Whathappens at the end of the Massof the Lord’s Supper? (HolyThursday)After the post-Communion prayer, the procession forms, with the crossbarat its head. The Blessed Sacrament, accompanied by lighted candles and incense, is carried throughthe church to the place of reservation, to the singing of thehymn "Pange lingua" or some other Eucharistic song. This rite of transfer of the Blessed Sacrament may not be carried out if the Liturgy of the Lord's Passion will not be celebrated in that same church on the following day.The Blessed Sacrament should be reserved in a closed tabernacle or pyx. Under no circumstances may it be exposed in amonstrance. The place where the tabernacle or pyx is situated must not bemade to resemble a tomb, and the expression "tomb" is to beavoided. The chapel of repose is not prepared so as to represent the"Lord's burial" but for the custody of the Eucharistic bread thatwill be distributed in Communion on Good Friday. After the Mass of the Lord's Supper the faithful should beencouraged to spend a suitable period of time during the nightin the church in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament whichhas been solemnly reserved. All depart in silence.HAPPY & GRACE FILLED HOLYHOLY WEEK MASS SCHEDULEHOLY THURSDAY—APRIL 18, 2019St. Anne at 7:00 PM with Fr. Frank MorinSt. Agnes at 7:00 PM with Fr.
