The CMSD Summer Learning Experience is back for a second year with somethingfor scholars in preschool through 12th grade. The program will be held at morethan 30 school sites throughout the city.Breakfast and lunch will be provided. K-8 students will receive yellow bustransportation to and from the nearest K-8 school. High school students willreceive tickets to ride RTA.Last year’s Summer Learning Experience proved to be very popular, with morethan 8,400 students signing up. Registration for this year will open April 25.FINISH, ENRICHAND ENGAGEFINISHAND ENGAGEStudents who attend in the morningcan finish the school year strong andparticipate in enrichment projects.The Finish portion of the day forPreK and kindergarten students willconsist of hands-on, fun play-basedlearning experiences for studentswho are entering kindergarten andfirst grade. Students in grades 1-8 canchoose enrichment projects in STEM,art, humanities or social justice.In the afternoon, students willengage in fun activities that involvecommunity partners. They can signup for a full or half day.High school students can finish theFor three weeksschool year strong by making upbefore and after thecredits or earning credits for nextSummer Learningyear.
