MEDICAL ASSISTANTMedical Assistant ProgramThe Medical Assistant Program prepares students foremployment as a medical assistant under the directionof a physician or registered nurse in a clinical or officesetting. The curriculum is designed to provide trainingin administrative (front office) and clinical (back officemedical assisting skills). CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT& HOME HEALTH AIDECertified Nursing Assistant ProgramThe Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program qualifiesstudents for certification by the California Departmentof Public Health. This program is also a prerequisite forMiraCosta College’s Licensed Vocational Nursing Program.Admission & Eligibility RequirementsThe CNA Program admittance is on a first-enrolled,first-admitted basis. Participants must enroll as studentsof MiraCosta College in order to be admitted. Priorto admission, students must clear the prerequisites inAdmissions & Records. After admission, students mustsubmit additional requirements to the Nursing Departmentprior to the first day of class.
