Room Exchange eBoardThe Room Exchange eBoard is a great way for students to change housing areas or live in a room with a new friend. PennState strives to accommodate student preferences when making room assignments but may not be able to assign everystudent to their desired room type or housing area. Once the housing preference deadline has passed, the HousingAssignment Office is unable to update a student’s preferences. Instead, students have the ability to utilize the RoomExchange eBoard functionality of eLiving to post your room assignment and “swap” it with another student.The eBoard is available 12:00 p.m. ET, Tuesday, July 19 through 12:00 p.m. ET, Tuesday,August 9 on eLiving.psu.edu. Meal PlansStudents living on campus will havethe Campus Meal Plan as part ofthe Housing and Food Service (HFS)Contract. The Campus Meal Plan isrequired to be purchased for eachsemester that a student lives oncampus. There are three levels of themeal plan available to select from,offering different amounts of DiningDollars. The HFS Contract defaults tolevel 2, and students may adjust theirlevel through eLiving.psu.edu untilnoon on the last day of finals foreach semester.Any dining dollars remaining fromsummer session carry over to fallsemester and fall semester balancescarry over to spring semester. University Housing ClosuresDuring the academic year, University Housing closes forfall break, at the end of fall semester, and spring break.Students are expected to vacate housing during these timeperiods (personal items can remaining in the room). Thedates and times are indicated on the “important dates”at the back of this guide and posted on the LiveOn site.Reminders of the closures will be shared prior to eachbreak period. The dates/times of these closures are strictlyenforced - the University does not permit students a latedeparture or an early arrival, so it’s important to keep thedates in mind when planning travel arrangements.id cardMore than identification, the campus card provides accessto, use of, and payment for resources both on and offcampus.
