General InformationSpace is limited and filled on a first come, first served basis. Submission of all required documents does notguarantee admission.Space is limited to the first 16 students who complete the entire application process.The application, document, and financial aid deadlines is December 15, 2021 at 5 p.m. Spaces may fill beforethe application, document, and financial aid deadline.Applicants admitted into the program will be notified by email. The payment deadline is December 22, 2021at noon. Allow a minimum of 3-5 days to process applications and admission documents. Use our onlineapplication status check tool to monitor your status.The Commercial Truck Driving program at CTC prepares students to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’sLicense. The program is only offered at our North Metro campus located in Acworth, GA. The CommercialTruck Driving program prefers applicants to be 21 years of age or older. Students 18 to 20 years of age mayoperate a commercial truck only in the State of Georgia, and therefore, may have limited employmentopportunities.The program consists of 3 courses.CTDL 1010 - Fundamentals of Commercial DrivingClass hours are generally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (hybrid format, 50% online)CTDL 1021 - Combine Vehicle Basic Operation & Range WorkClass hours are generally Monday-Friday, 7 am to noon or 1 pm to 6 pm.CTDL 1031 - Combination Vehicle Advanced OperationsSame format as CTDL 1021Tuition and Fees(Subject to Change)In-State *Out-of-StateInternational 1779.00 2,967.00 5,343.00* Students must have lived in Georgia for the last 12 consecutive months to qualify as an in-state resident. Applicants areresponsible for all costs associated with acquiring admissions materials including, but not limited to, application fees, DOT PhysicalExaminations, Certified Motor Vehicle Reports, required text books, CDL Class A permit testing, CDL examination and licensingfees, Road Test Examinations, official post-secondary transcripts, and Pre-Employment Drug Testing. This is in addition to tuitionand fees.

Application ProcessThe items listed below must be emailed and submitted simultaneously, as a complete packet, tocdl@ChattahoocheeTech.edu. Incomplete packets will not be processed. Email a completed Chattahoochee Tech application for admission to cdl@ChattahoocheeTech.edu on orafter December 11, 2021 with the items listed below, as a complete application packet. The applicationfee for CDL applicants will be waived. Email a clear picture of your valid Georgia Driver’s License to cdl@ChattahoocheeTech.edu. Copies oftemporary licenses will not be accepted. Email one document to verify lawful presence in the United States to cdl@ChattahoocheeTech.edu.Acceptable documents include a current U.S. Passport, Certificate of Naturalization, current GeorgiaDriver’s License, or valid Permanent Resident Card. Limited Term Licenses will not be acceptable to verifylawful presence, you must submit another document from the list. Transfer students should submit a College Transcript Waiver Form to waive submission of officialtranscripts from all previously attended regionally accredited colleges. Please email a clear picture ofyour completed form with your completed application packet. Email a 7-year certified Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) to cdl@ChattahoocheeTech.edu. The 7-year certifiedMotor Vehicle Report (MVR) must be acquired in person, at a Georgia Department of Driver Servicesfacility, and should be dated on or after December 11, 2021. Review the College Catalog for generalguidelines about points and DUI violations. All reports are subject to review by the Associate Dean forapproval. Complete a DOT Physical at Lake City Chiropractic. Lake City Chiropractic is the only facility that youcan use to complete a DOT Physical. Your physical should be completed on or after December 11,2021. Appointments fill quickly, call 770-529-0566 to schedule an appointment. When schedulingyour appointment, inform Lake City Chiropractic that you are a Chattahoochee Technical College CDLapplicant. Email your completed physical to cdl@ChattahoocheeTech.edu. Your Physical and MedicalCard must remain valid through March 2, 2022. A current Class A CDL Learner’s Permit is required for admission. Your permit must remain valid untilMarch 2, 2022. Email a clear picture of your CDL Class A Permit to to cdl@ChattahoocheeTech.edu. Permittesting will cover General Knowledge, Air Brakes, and Combination Vehicle. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or GSFAPPS application to apply forfinancial aid. Our school code for the FAFSA is 005620. Please allow up to a week for Chatt Tech toreceive your FAFSA results. Questions regarding financial aid should be directed to Sherlene Griersonat Sherlene.Grierson@ChattahoocheeTech.edu. All questions regarding Veterans Benefits should bedirected to Kay.Paul@ChattahoocheeTech.edu. If you are unemployed, contact your county’s WorkforceInnovation and Opportunity Act Office (WIOA) to request information about potential fundingopportunities.

Additional FeesThere are several additional fees in addition to the application fee, tuition and institutional fees, and fuelcharge. Alcohol and Substance Abuse PolicyYour continued enrollment in the Commercial Truck Driving program at ChattahoocheeTechnical College is dependent upon your adherence to our Drug and Alcohol policy.You will receive and sign a copy of the Drug and Alcohol policy on the first day of class.Chattahoochee Technical College’s Commercial Truck Driving Program is committed toproviding a safe environment and fostering the wellbeing and health of its students, faculty,and employees. That commitment is jeopardized when anyone in our program illegally usesdrugs or CBD products not prescribed by a physician, comes to school under their influence,possesses, distributes or sells drugs, any CBD product, or abuses alcohol while enrolled atChattahoochee Technical College. CBD products are prohibited due to false positive drugtesting results.Pre-employment testing is conducted upon receipt of the Commercial Learner’s Permit, atthe expense of the student, at the completion of CTDL 1010. Random testing is conductedwithout individualized suspicion of a violation of the school’s substance abuse policy. Arefusal will be considered a positive result. Selection is made by neutral criteria so that allstudents eligible for testing have an equal opportunity of being tested. Failure to followthe policies contained herein will result in disciplinary action up to and including failure,withdrawal from the program, and possible legal action.It is the policy of Chattahoochee Technical College that any student who violates any of theprovisions set forth in our policy will receive a grade of F for the Commercial Truck DrivingProgram and not be allowed to return to the CTDL Program at Chattahoochee TechnicalCollege. Students will be permitted to return after completion of a DOT certified drugtreatment program. The cost of treatment will be at the expense of the student.Any student who receives a positive drug and/or alcohol test result while enrolled in theprogram will be formally reported to the Technical College System of Georgia and prohibitedfrom enrolling in Commercial Truck Driving programs associated with the Technical CollegeSystem of Georgia. Violators will also be referred to other entities as specified by FMCSAregulations and the Clearinghouse.
